Our members join Yoga Australia because they want to be part of a thriving and growing community of yoga professionals, with access to information, guidance and support delivered right here in Australia. Yoga Australia members are passionate about promoting and supporting the integrity and diversity of yoga. As the peak professional body for Australian yoga teachers, yoga therapists and yoga teacher trainers, Yoga Australia sets quality standards for teachers, yoga therapists and teacher training. We promote, advocate for, and protect their professional interests, development, and well-being.

When you join Yoga Australia you become part of an exceptionally supportive and engaged community. We understand that many of our members are sole traders and practitioners, and isolation can be an issue; it can feel lonely and tough at times. That’s why we provide lots of opportunities to connect with others in our community through online meetings, face to face events and through our private Facebook group, exclusive to members. And don’t forget, the Yoga Australia community is always just a phone call, email or a Facebook post away; here to guide and support you when you need it.

The past year has been extraordinary on so many levels and it has highlighted for us just how much our members have valued having a local organisation here to support them. Last year we hosted over 100 online and in-person events, offering members a chance to quickly adapt to the changing environment and most importantly connecting them to us and each other so that we can work through the many and varied challenges together. We have also been busy providing updates whenever regulations and restrictions change across the different states and territories and sourcing government clarification when needed to navigate these changes.

New Registered Yoga Teacher

Choose from annual, bi-annual or quarterly billing periods. There is a $99 application fee if your course was not registered with Yoga Australia.

After completing the purchase, a member sign up form will appear. Where you will pick the relevant membership level for your application and upload your teaching certificates and documents for your application.

We can’t wait to welcome you back! We can reinstate your membership and honour the highest level you were previously.

  • The re-application fee is $25 to reinstate your membership, use the code RM25
  • Set up a new account by purchasing a new membership on our new website. On the member sign up form, after the checkout, select you are a returning member and supply email and full name that you were previously registered under.
  • If we are unable to find you in our archives a $99 application fee will be invoiced to you to process a new application

Yoga Australia recommends the following minimum yoga teaching insurance cover for members (click here). Our Insurance Partner is GSA Insurance Brokers. You will need to be a Yoga Australia member to purchase insurance with GSA. You can apply for membership first, then purchase professional insurance after your membership is approved. Have your member number handy when you are signing up for your insurance.

A current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or equivalent training certificate. The Provide First Aid must be updated every three years. We do not require the CPR (HLTAID009) refresher course to be completed each year.

Doctors/Nurses can register without a Provide First aid certificate by uploading a copy of either a current registration or current I.D.

To upgrade to Level 2 and 3 we require Teaching Experience and Testimonials. Use the following document template to support your application.

Login to your member dashboard, head to My Invoices & Membership (on the left sidebar)

If your settings are set to:

  • Auto renew – on, your renewal will automatically be charged to the credit card saved on your account.
  • Auto renew – off (Payment via manual renewal), you will not be autocharged and will need to click renew now in the dashboard section, My Invoices & Membership inorder to renew.

You can update your Auto renew preferences by clicking on “set up” in My Invoices & Membership in your member dashboard.

As part of the data migration we had to allocate everyone a new member number. GSA Insurance have been informed and you can use your new 5-digit member number, located below your Display Name on your dashboard, for purchasing and renewing your insurance policy.

You can download your current member certificate in the Badges & Certificates section.

Log into your member dashboard and click on upload cpd points.

Check to see if the information is correct in the My Profile section of your dashboard. Make sure to check your first name, last name, state and biography.

Also to increase your keyword searchability (seo), we recommend having more search terms in your Teacher Biography.
