The Live to Serve Yoga Teacher Training is all about Health for a Higher Purpose. Our goal for you: to live the yoga lifestyle, centred around service and spiritual practice. And be able to help others do the same.

Our teacher training has been developed to guide and inspire students as they move towards uncovering their true essence and purpose.

Our lessons are deeply rooted in knowledge from the Bhagavad Gita and ancient Vedic teachings, with meditation techniques and wisdom from the Gaudiya Sampradaya lineage. Our teaching faculty includes passionate teachers and allied health professionals, enabling our students to access both Western and Eastern knowledge, setting them up to be well-rounded and holistic teachers.

Curriculum

Module 1: Anatomy & Physiology For Yoga
Develop a fundamental understanding of Western Anatomical science, and be empowered to facilitate safe classes for a variety of injuries and conditions. Explore some of the foundational concepts of Eastern Anatomy & Physiology.

Module 2: Yoga Physiology
Delve into the mind-body-spirit complex. Discover the Gunas, Nadis, Sheathes, Charkas, and Pancha Vayus. Explore how an understanding of Yoga Physiology can support us on the path of healthy living & self-discovery.

Module 3: Philosophy, Ethics & Lifestyle
Yoga is so much more than what happens on the mat. In this module we look at the yoga-system as per the Bhagavad-Gita, investigate the true meaning of yoga, and explore the yoga-lifestyle. In this module, we look at some of the traditional principles of yoga such as Dharma & Sanatan Dharma (purpose); Service; ethics and etiquette.

Module 4: Yoga Techniques
200hr & 350hr: Learn practical techniques for health and wellbeing. We’ll cover over 50+ foundational techniques, including postures, breathwork, mantra & kirtan, and relaxation. We’ll also cover a study of teaching cues according to different schools of thought, and help you develop your authentic voice as a teacher. Build on your foundational understanding of asana by learning the art of vinyasa (hatha-flow); plus, learn techniques to advance yours’ and your student’s practice.

Module 5: Teaching Methodology
Learn about the Art of Teaching – how to demonstrate, communicate, and hold space as a yoga teacher.
Learn about pacing and timing for teaching, and adapting your delivery to suit different learning styles. We’ll also look at how to deal with challenging situations as a yoga teacher (such as managing illness & injury).

Module 6: Integrative & Practice Teaching
Design and facilitate effective classes for a variety of different students and settings (such as one-on-one’s, group classes, workshops, and retreats) while maintaining yours and your students safety. In this module, we also look at developing your product line: signature classes, courses, retreats, and more!

Module 7: Ayurveda for Yoga
This specialty subject enables you to use Ayurvedic principles and techniques to support and inspire physical and mental wellbeing. Assist clients in gently cleansing with yoga lifestyle applications: Kriya, Pranayama, Yoga-Asana, Meditation, & Sattvic Diet.

Scope of Practice

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of Anatomy and Physiology as per the Eastern school of thought (Ayurveda & Yoga).
  • Teach yoga-asanas (hatha, and hatha-vinyasa style), pranayama and meditation across a variety of different settings to both general and special groups.
  • Support student’s in a trauma-aware manner.
  • Develop a greater understanding of the mind-body-spirit complex in order to confidently deliver a holistic approach to private sessions, group classes, workshops, and retreats.
  • Deepen your understanding of the meaning of yoga as per the teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita and knowledge derived from the Vedas.
  • Increase confidence as a student and teacher by expanding your knowledge of the path of self-discovery, including practical implementation of daily personal sadhana to support spiritual growth.
  • Cultivate an understanding of how yoga heals the mind and body.
  • Discover how to incorporate working with the energy of the dosha’s and maha gunas into your classes and practice to support physical health and mental equilibrium.
  • Learn the current recommended ancient techniques and practices for spiritual advancement in this day and age, and how to pass them on to others.

Delivery

  • 200hr delivered fully online via zoom.
  • Weekly 1hr live zoom practice yoga classes.
  • Self-paced educational classes – teaching tutorials, theory lectures, practice classes, with regular live zoom mentoring.
  • Access to our content platform for all including video training tutorials for all techniques, theory modules, resources, and theory assessments.
  • Lifetime access to the course materials and group mentoring.
