SUMMARY:Creating Clarity - The Role of Gunas in Yoga & Ayurveda
DESCRIPTION:How do the Gunas inform the Mind?\nThe Gunas are qualities that pervade all of life. Ayurveda teaches that sattva (balance\, clarity) is the dominant guna for health. In Yoga we prize sattva as the goal of practice for a refined Mind.\nYet transformation and change (parinama) are the basis of our human experience which means sattva is ever shifting\, rather than a permanent state.\nHow does Yoga practice reorient us to Sattva?\nWhat do we we come to understand when the Mind experiences this state of refinement?\nPerspectives from both Chapter 3 of the Yoga Sutras and Samkhya philosophy will be discussed.\nPractices will be given to highlight these teachings.\nThis weekend of study is aimed at experienced yoga practitioners who wish to deepen their understanding and dive into yogic philosophy. For full timetable refer to link below.Saturday 15th June – conducted by Barbara BrianSunday 16th June – conducted by Jill HarrisLocation: Agama Yoga Centre\, 216 Richardson Street\, Middle Park9.00am – 4.30pm both days. 2 days $250\, 1 day $140\, half day $80.
