SUMMARY:Sankalpa Circle: Transitioning to a new year
DESCRIPTION:Nikki and Chris invite you to participate in our Sankalpa Circle to take time out to reflect on 2023 and create intentions for 2024. The program was developed to share tools and experiences to enrich and navigate transitioning into a new year.  We both enjoy being part of a collaborative supportive community and we’d love you to join us! \nOur intention for the ‘Sankalpa Circle: Transitioning to the New Year’\, is to come together for heartfelt reflection to find a ‘word’ that encapsulates and provides guidance for the year ahead. Our program draws from a range of inspirations that have supported our transitions into a new year\, in particular the works of Susannah Conway (Unravel Your Year\, Find Your Word) and Gina Macauley (YogaHaraSankalpa workshops and retreats). \nChris’ word for 2023 is expand and Nikki’s word is luminous. We’re excited to discover our words for 2024! \nYou’re welcome to join for all or part of the program\, our aim is to keep it open and flexible. Participants will receive a document that outlines a suggested process; however\, everything is an invitation\, and you’re welcome to incorporate processes and tools you find useful and skip the rest. You know best which parts of the program support you. Eg\, you might join for journaling\, be at rest during the mindful movement and skip discussions\, or participate in the entirety of the program. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you choose in the discussions. \nClick here to Register via Humantix \nOnline via Zoom – a meeting link and Resources documents will be shared by email and on the Humantix Virtual Hub after registration. \nWe  limit registrations to a maximum of 14 participants to ensure support and space for the group and each individual. \nConsiderations for your participation: \n\nA quiet\, private space where you won’t be disturbed\, with room for you to move freely.\nA journal and pen\, options for other mediums (collage\, paints/pencils/etc) to support external expression of your experiences.\nAccess to the internet via a device that you are able to use in your space\n\nThe registration process has an option to let us know if you are unfamiliar with Zoom and would like a 10 minute technical check in prior to the start of the program. \nYou will also be given the opportunity to book a call with Chris or Nikki prior to the group starting to discuss any concerns or considerations to support your participation in the group. \nDisclaimer: Registration is confirmation of your capacity and acceptance of responsibility for making wise and kind choices\, practicing ahimsa (self-kindness/non-harm) and seeking additional support if required. \nProgram Outline:  December 2023 \nThemes \nWednesday 27 –  Reflection on 2023 – closing\, letting go\, releasing \nThursday 28 –  Opening up to possibilities\, welcoming everything as it is \nFriday 29 –   Taking aim\, narrowing focus\, distilling the options \nSaturday 30 –  Moving into / welcoming 2024\, taking action \n  \nDaily \n8:00 – 8:10: Guided meditation \n8.10 – 8:40: “Sit and do” journaling (everyone on mute) \n8.40 – 9:00: Intro/brief check in \n9:00 – 9.10: Break \n9.10 – 9.30:  Mindful movement / gentle yoga – for support and comfort please have blankets/towel\, cushions/pillows\, bolster\, block/thick \n9.30 – 10:00:  iRest Yoga Nidra / meditation – usually lying down \n10:00 – 10.30:  Discussion / sharing – session closes \n10.30 – 11:00: Optional time for questions and further discussion \n  \nYour booking fee includes access to all live sessions\, digital copies of Reflection Guides and tips to support the process\, and links to audio recordings of the iRest Yoga Nidra practices. \nOur aim is to make the Sankalpa Circle financially accessible to people whilst at the same time considering the need to pay ourselves a wage and cover our costs\, in addition to recognising and respecting the value of our investment in learning these teachings from others. \nIf you are able to pay the full rate\, we thank you. If not\, please choose the payment option that is appropriate for you\, according to your current financial circumstances. Please feel free to contact us if your circumstance is not reflected in the price structure. \nVirabhadrasana III (Warrior 3) $160.00 \nThe world needs people like you that are confidently taking action and moving forward. SUMMARY:Full Day Retreat : The Power of Pranayama
DESCRIPTION:An essential part of any yoga practice\, pranayama is often translated as ‘energy’ (prana) ‘control’ (yama) and also as prana-ayama: ‘energy expansion’.  Both are true.  We learn pranayama to control breath\, energy and mind\, with an outcome of pure\, blissful release. \nThis day will delve into many of the pranayamas : for vitality\, balance\, tranquility and meditation. The day is experiential; time to immerse yourself\, and so notes will be available for later reference. \nSuitable for all with some knowledge of traditional yoga

SUMMARY:Restorative Yoga & Meditation Program Online
DESCRIPTION:When is yoga really restorative? When if offers space and ease (sukham) to all layers of the human system. Many styles of ‘restorative yoga’ focus on techniques that actually create strain or mental agitation by pushing the body into postures that constrict rather than release. For yoga to be restorative it needs to accomodate the needs of the person not put them into a one size fits all mould. \nThis 6 week on line program offers yoga that feels easeful and allows the full experience of letting go of held tensions and strain – in body and mind. The postures are gentle\, grounded and readily adaptable for different bodies. Time will be taken to explore what you need.\nStaying is a focus but gentle movement will be used to encourage ease and restore energy to balance. \nAs we wind our way through relaxing the nervous system via the breath\,  focus and imagery (bhavana) will be incorporated to enhance the restorative effect and provide focus for the mind. \nBhavana is a powerful tool – ‘what we think\, we become’ and the practices will offer us the experience of creating positive focuses for the mind.\nThe meditative focus each week will be on a different element (bhuta) according to Ayurveda – earth\, fire\, wind\, space\, water  – and their manifestation in our body. We are made up of all these elements and when in balance assist our body to be well.\nYoga tools for self care will be explained to take into daily life. \nThe final 20 minutes of practice will offer guided meditation that leads to silence and time for inner space and reflection. \nWhen: Monday February 5 – March 11\nTime: 7.15pm-8.15pm \nOnline via Zoom \nSuitable for all levels of experience and those wishing to engage in a gentler yoga practice leading to an experience of meditation. If you have tried forms of meditation before and find it difficult to focus\, this practice may offer a new way arriving in meditation for you.\nA great practice for calming body and mind and preparing for rest and good sleep.
