DESCRIPTION:Improve your memory and focus. –  Reduce mental agitation  –  Increase your breath capacity. –  Improve listening and communication skills –  Find and refine your own voice  –   Increase your self confidence. –  Strengthen you spiritual connection  –  Gain an overall sense of well-being!! \nVedic Chanting is yoga\, it is concentration\, meditation\, it is prāṇāyāma\, it is jñāna and it is bhakti. It is a commitment to learning something very deep. \nI am asked what the Vedas have to do with Yoga. Well\, the Vedas contain it\, the Vedas are themselves Yoga. That is what this is all about. \nThat said\, you don’t need anything to practice and learn. If you want to know something in you that will surprise you a lot\, this will surely interest you. It is not easy\, but it is enriching. It is not quick\, but it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. \nChanting controls and transforms the Prāṇā\, it is a feeling of merging with the Universal vibration\, and it is rediscovering oneself anew in a practice very little known in the West. \nIn these classes you will learn how to pronounce Sanskrit\, you will learn the correct way to recite some Vedic mantras\, such as the popular Gāyatrī\, as it was taught in ancient times\, unchanged\, orally and following the rules of a South Indian lineage. \nYou don’t need to know how to sing\, or how to tune\,  in Vedic Chanting we only use 3 notes not 7 as in music \, this makes it accessible to everyone! \nChanting classes are conducted seated\, either on the floor or on a chair. It is important to feel comfortable so that you are able to focus only on the sound.  All chants will be taught through a “call and response” methodology\, using the aid of chant texts. The basic rules of Chanting\, along with general meanings of chants will be explained. \nThese classes are for you if you want to learn more about mantra practice. It is a commitment to learning something very deep. \nI am asked what the Vedas have to do with Yoga. Well\, the Vedas contain it\, the Vedas are themselves Yoga. That is what this is all about. \nThat said\, you don’t need anything to practice and learn. If you want to know something in you that will surprise you a lot\, this will surely interest you. It is not easy\, but it is enriching. It is not quick\, but it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. \nChanting controls and transforms the Prāṇā\, it is a feeling of merging with the Universal vibration\, and it is rediscovering oneself anew in a practice very little known in the West. \nIn these classes you will learn how to pronounce Sanskrit\, you will learn the correct way to recite some Vedic mantras\, such as the popular Gāyatrī\, as it was taught in ancient times\, unchanged\, orally and following the rules of a South Indian lineage. \nYou don’t need to know how to sing\, or how to tune\,  in Vedic Chanting we only use 3 notes not 7 as in music \, this makes it accessible to everyone! \nChanting classes are conducted seated\, either on the floor or on a chair. It is important to feel comfortable so that you are able to focus only on the sound.  All chants will be taught through a “call and response” methodology\, using the aid of chant texts. DESCRIPTION:Practicing Chair yoga is a great gift for a number of reasons.\n\nIt might be that you need support for the poses; you might have a knee or hip that’s not coping well with weight bearing; or you might not have the time or space to roll out your mat.\n\nUsing a chair\, poses can be gentle or strong\, and I’ll teach both.\n\nI will be giving detailed alignment instructions for the actions\, and introducing new actions each week.\n\n\n\nThere will be video recordings of the live sessions so if you can’t make a live session all is not lost.\n\n\n\nMy intention\, my hope is that over the ten sessions you will learn enough to be able to create your own practice.\n\n\n\nThere’s such ease in pulling out a chair and doing some stretches. Such support for building strength. Such a great opportunity to be drawn in to the quiet inside\, as the outer body moves.

DESCRIPTION:“All that you do to maintain your life\, your everyday work and play\, all your attempts to earn a living\, should be done with sincerity\, love and devotion\, with a firm conviction that true living means virtually perfecting one’s spiritual existence in tune with the universe.” \n\nIndian saint and mystic Sri Anandamayi Ma \nThis retreat invites you to discover or deepen your unique life purpose by uniting ancient spiritual wisdom with modern psychological insights. Our journey will be initially guided by the contemplations of best selling author Robert Greene\, who emphasises self-awareness\, learning from all experiences\, and understanding the dynamics of relationships\, career\, and society. His insights on power\, communication\, and the balance between vulnerability and strength provide valuable guidance for finding your path and building meaningful connections with others. \nA core focus of this retreat is embracing a deeper\, more present sense of purpose\, as taught by Eckhart Tolle. Tolle emphasises that true purpose is not about striving for future goals\, but about fully engaging with the present moment. Our inner purpose is to awaken\, and life brings us exactly the experiences we need to evolve our consciousness\, providing opportunities for growth and self-discovery. This journey of awakening is a shared\, universal experience across humanity. \nBy shifting from a “thought-based” mindset to a state of presence\, you can let go of mental patterns that cause dissatisfaction\, allowing a more harmonious and fulfilling life to emerge. DESCRIPTION:Located in Hepburn Springs\, Victoria\, we have the entire Continental House to roam\, find our own little nook and settle in\, sit in the garden or go for walks through nature. \nEnjoy the sumptuousness of having your own space\, meals served to you and yoga designed for your needs. Then dive into experiential understanding of Yoga Psychology ~ how the sensing\, feeling body informs the mind about safety and social engagement\, armouring and withdrawal. Expect a deep dive into the mind’s nature and come out the other end brimful with new ways of thinking and being in the world. \nKatie de Araujo has a way of unravelling the stress\, awakening the sensing body\, opening hearts while expanding one’s knowledge and perspective. \nKatie de Araujo is a body-centered yoga therapist with expertise in embodiment: felt-sense movements that honour the natural movement of the body and the intuitive breath. \nShe teaches high level concepts of psychology and philosophy in practical\, common sense language to equip learners with a sense of mastery and achievement. \nIn this long weekend retreat (Friday evening to Monday afternoon): \n~ you’ll release the subtle armouring and vigilance we often think of as normal or okay. Why? To feel open\, new and clearer so that new learning can occur. \n~ Feel the effects of your particular nervous system and practice regulation and co-regulation with others \n~ expand and then refine your practical knowledge of the mind-body connection from neuroscience\, breath science and somatic experiencing. \n~ learn essential practices and practice them to a level more masterful than otherwise would be possible (repeat\, iterate\, build) \n~ have a clear framework for sharing your skills with students\, clients or significant others in your life \n~ be apart of a unified\, supportive group (my favourite and most valued element of any retreat 💗) and preserve a  special experience to remember forever.
