SUMMARY:The Science and Art of Awakening Human Consciousness - Session Consciousness
DESCRIPTION:This session will initially explore consciousness through the five-level panchamaya yoga model. We will also experientially and briefly touch upon the science of consciousness in meditation with reference to the work of cognitive neuroscientists Dr Anil Seth and Dr Donald Hoffman. Most importantly\, we will explore the field of consciousness that is beyond body\, mind\, birth\, life & death. This field of consciousness is what the great yogis have explored throughout the ages\, taking us to a deeper understanding of what science has not yet proven: the recognition that consciousness and energy are the same and not separate. \n\n“The whole universe\, inside and out\, are manifestations of the same Universal Force: ChitShakti.” \n\n~ Michael Singer \nOn a more personal level\, we will explore both resistance and acceptance within\, noticing how the mind dictates heavily what we do and don’t want. The deep spiritual teaching lies in the recognition that the World isn’t always going to give us what we want. Our minds are constructing a reality of what we think we want. Therefore it is wise that we remain open\, without expectation\, to the moment unfolding right in front of us. What is unfolding in front of us is the reality of where our consciousness meets the moment that just is. \n\n“You attract and manifest whatever corresponds to your inner state.” \n\nEckhart Tolle \nLet us explore the radiance behind all that is…

This ongoing study of form\, function\, stability & movement assists in delivering a clear pathway of how to resolve any issues you may have. Currently based in Melbourne\, I travel to teach within Australia & overseas. I am a senior level yoga teacher\, trainer & mentor with over 32 years experience; read more here… I offer teacher training and mentoring for teachers wishing to deepen their skill-sets: click to read more… My vision at Still_Move Yoga™ is to assist students to go beyond what they thought possible. I am deeply inspired by working with people at all stages of their yoga experience & helping each individual reach their yoga goals. By sharing my depth of experience methodically and clearly\, through live online sessions\, pre-recorded yoga classes or ‘in studio’ workshops\, each student feels their practice is elevated to a whole new perspective. I feel it is important to be receptive to the student and imbue the class with a sense of communal support and acceptance for what our bodies and minds can manage at each stage of the journey.

SUMMARY:Restorative Yoga & Meditation Program Online
DESCRIPTION:When is yoga really restorative? When if offers space and ease (sukham) to all layers of the human system. Many styles of ‘restorative yoga’ focus on techniques that actually create strain or mental agitation by pushing the body into postures that constrict rather than release. For yoga to be restorative it needs to accomodate the needs of the person not put them into a one size fits all mould. \nThis 6 week on line program offers yoga that feels easeful and allows the full experience of letting go of held tensions and strain – in body and mind. The postures are gentle\, grounded and readily adaptable for different bodies. Time will be taken to explore what you need.\nStaying is a focus but gentle movement will be used to encourage ease and restore energy to balance. \nAs we wind our way through relaxing the nervous system via the breath\,  focus and imagery (bhavana) will be incorporated to enhance the restorative effect and provide focus for the mind. \nBhavana is a powerful tool – ‘what we think\, we become’ and the practices will offer us the experience of creating positive focuses for the mind.\nThe meditative focus each week will be on a different element (bhuta) according to Ayurveda – earth\, fire\, wind\, space\, water  – and their manifestation in our body. We are made up of all these elements and when in balance assist our body to be well.\nYoga tools for self care will be explained to take into daily life. \nThe final 20 minutes of practice will offer guided meditation that leads to silence and time for inner space and reflection. \nWhen: Monday February 5 – March 11\nTime: 7.15pm-8.15pm \nOnline via Zoom \nSuitable for all levels of experience and those wishing to engage in a gentler yoga practice leading to an experience of meditation. If you have tried forms of meditation before and find it difficult to focus\, this practice may offer a new way arriving in meditation for you.\nA great practice for calming body and mind and preparing for rest and good sleep.

SUMMARY:Cosmic Alignment: Yoga Therapy for the Spine
DESCRIPTION:A two-day workshop with international teacher Leila Stuart\n24 – 25 February 2023\nin Adelaide\nI am thrilled to be hosting Leila Stuart for her first workshop in Adelaide. I met Leila through our mutual association with Donna Farhi\, with whom Leila co-authored the book Pathways to a Centred Body (2017).  This workshop topic is the core of her new book Theoretical Anatomy: Therapeutic Applications of Embodied Movement and Awareness (forthcoming 2024). Leila’s transformational system of therapeutic yoga evolved from her desire to empower patients and students on the path to self-healing. Whether challenged with physical\, mental or spiritual issues\, Leila skillfully guides students toward a felt sense of their wholeness by exploring experiential anatomy and the interplay between awareness\, gentle movement\, breath\, and mental patterns. \nIn this workshop we will explore the spine through experiential anatomy\, somatic inquiry\, yoga therapy principles\, movement repatterning\, asana\, breath\, sound\, and mental perspective.     We will use the koshic model to discover safe ways to improve spine health\, alignment\, stability\, and mobility\, and to understand how spinal awareness can lead to deep personal transformation. \nThis workshop is suitable for experienced yoga students\, yoga teachers\, personal trainers\, physiotherapists\, and massage therapists interested in learning slow\, mindful\, and accessible movements for healing the spine and neck. \nInvestment:\n$385\nEarly bird $350 expires 15 January – use CA-EB as a Discount Code when booking\nConcessions\nEligibility: holders of a Pensioner Concession Card\, Health Care Card\, or Full Time Student card. \nConcession rate is $325 – use CA-CON as a Discount Code when booking\nEarly bird Concession is $290 expires 15 January – use CA-CON-EB as a Discount Code when booking\nScholarships\nPlease contact Tina to outline your need as we are willing to offer a limited number of scholarships if you are unable to attend for financial reasons.

SUMMARY:Restorative Yoga for Menopause
DESCRIPTION:Join Menopause Yoga founder Petra Coveney for a 6 hour CPD course on Restorative Yoga for Menopause designed for both qualified yoga teachers and practitioners. \nPetra believes that one the keys to navigating your menopause transition is to “Rest\, Do Less\, Reduce Stress” so that your body has the opportunity to adjust to the change in hormone balance. If you give yourself daily ‘mini-pauses’ to put your feet up\, recharge your battery and settle your nervous system\, then you may find it easier to get through your day\, manage your symptoms and gain the benefits of this ‘wintering’ menopause stage of life. Taking a leaf out of Nature\, by allowing yourself to rest\, you are more able to step into your Second Spring of post menopause feeling reenergised\, uplifted and empowered. \nPetra is based in the UK so her 6-hour CPD will be spread over two days with  two 3 hour sessions. \nThe live sessions include: \n\na slide presentation on menopause + restorative yoga.\ngroup discussion and Q&A\ngroup workshopping 4 specially selected restorative poses for menopause.\nteaching practice in pairs (Zoom break out rooms).\nQuiz\n\nThere will also be recorded content for you to watch after the live sessions\, and a pdf workbook for you to print out. \nOn completion of the live CPD course\, you will receive a certificate of attendance from Petra Coveney’s Menopause Yoga. \nThe aim of this CPD is to both provide: \na. restorative poses for you to practice at home for your own benefit. \nb. to support students in your own classes. \nPlease note: this CPD does not qualify you as a Menopause Yoga teacher\, which is a separate 40+ hour training course. This course compliments the 40 hour TT and will enhance your learning experience if you choose to take the full course.

SUMMARY:Official Yoga Australia Event: 3 Essential Keys to becoming an Outstanding Teacher and The Energy of Money
DESCRIPTION:Learn the essential keys to becoming a great teacher\, so you’ll teach more\, earn more and create a community of loved up customers. Ondine Savage has been a yoga teacher for 18-years\, runs her own studio and had other teachers working for her. She has observed how teachers talk about money\, including what they charge for classes\, workshops and retreats\, and often it’s coming from a scarcity mindset. This event will help to unpack this a little more giving perspective around what it means to value your worth and how to charge appropriately for your services. About the PresenterI’m Ondine\, a lover of travel\, amazing food\, great books and of course yoga. I was born in New Zealand and started life as a classical musician\, graduating from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Music Performance degree. After dedicating years practicing in confined spaces\, I decided to lay down my flute\, pack up my bags and head over to the UK to spread my wings. I then devoted five years of full-time study at the Dharmâlaya Ashram in Granada\, Spain. I trained in orthodox and traditional disciplines such as Hatha Yoga\, Vyayam Yoga\, Vedic Dharma\, Ayurveda\, Meditation & Vedanta. Awakened Soul Yoga (formally known as Hatha Yoga Sydney)\, began when I returned to Australia after spending time learning yoga in Rishikesh\, Northern India. It began as a boutique yoga studio in Redfern in 2011\, and 13 years later is now an online yoga education sanctuary. I’ve been teaching for 18 years\, ten of which have been dedicated to facilitating stunning yoga retreats both nationally within Australia but also internationally in Bali\, Tonga and New Zealand. My teaching comes from a place of deep love and reverence for the practice\, but also a desire to support people transform their physical\, mental and emotional well being for optimal health and wellness. I encourage my students to come to their inner wisdom via the different techniques yoga offers; philosophical contemplation\, silence\, stillness\, meditation\, breath work\, yoga âsana and of course\, the immersion of all these disciplines via beautifully crafted yoga retreat experiences designed to uplift\, inspire and transform. I also mentor and support new yoga teachers beginning their teaching journey\, to navigate the world of being in business. Learning the ins and outs of running a business and helping them avoid all the common pitfalls and mistakes I made during my career. I’m now based in Bangalow\, in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales.
