DESCRIPTION:Discover the transformative power of Vedic meditation and delve into the Science and Practice of Mantra Meditation & Marma Point Sound Healing on December 6 with Celia Roberts (Ayurveda)\, Tumul Dubey (Sanskrit) & Anita Cassidy Bowman (Sound Healing). \nVedic meditation harnesses sound\, rhythm\, and music to unlock a myriad of health and wellness benefits. In this practice\, the mantra serves as a focal point\, guiding the mind to deep concentration while the sound resonates throughout the sacred areas of the body. Mantra meditation\, a concentration technique\, involves contemplation on a specific word or phrase. \nThe research on the use of mantra for mental well-being is extensive and continually expanding. Our minds operate on vibrational patterns rooted in sounds and words. Each word holds associations with emotions\, experiences\, feelings\, and thoughts\, grounded in deep memory. The inner voice\, governing the mind\, further adds meaning to words. Consequently\, the serene inner sound achieved through mantra meditation has the potential to bring stillness to the mind. Unlike the inner dialogue and distracting thoughts\, the repetition of mantras does not evoke emotional responses; instead\, it causes a unidirectional reduced activation of cortical networks leading to a basic state of rest (Berkovich-Ohana et al.\, 2015). \nMantra also allows us to connect the mind\, external and internal speech\, and ultimately achieve connection with the environmental and universal sound vibrations. Sound is the vehicle of Transcendence that we will explore for this meditation retreat. Here\, we shall use Mantra to facilitate the flow of prana through the marma points\, an important tool of marma therapy. Mantras protect marma points\, called “kavacha” in Sanskrit and so we use Mantra or sound to heal and protect certain vulnerable areas in the body. \nThis retreat will introduce you to Mantra Purusha\, a daily practice that can be used to implement Mantra and the ancient Sanskrit alphabet into the body’s sound vibration and to heal each marma point. \nThis Ayurvedic practice can be used to achieve many different goals\, such as greater self-awareness\, inner peace\, spiritual growth\, and enlightenment. \nThe benefits of this kind of mind and sound healing include: \n\nDecreased pain\nImproved heart health\nLessened symptoms of depression\nLower blood pressure\nReduced PTSD & Trauma\nDeeper and more restorative sleep\nReduced anxiety and stress\nStronger vagal tone and heart rate variability — key measures of your resilience to stress.\n\nDo join us for this very special end of year retreat.

DESCRIPTION:Are you looking for a meaningful way to honour and close out this year?  Would you like support connecting to your highest resolutions as you head into another new year? \nDuring this event\, you’ll be guided to give thanks for the journey of 2024\, and sow beneficial intentions for the future year 2025\, in a very heartfelt\, connecting and embodied way – including a guided\, intentional yin-yoga session with Erin Lee featuring incredible live music from renowned musician Tenzin Choegyal\, and special Black Hat Tibetan dance performance from Tenzin Kunsang for removing obstacles. \nTenzin Choegyal is one of the world’s finest musicians in the Tibetan tradition. As a son of Tibetan nomads\, he feels a particular connection to the music of the high Himalayan plateau. \nIn a career spanning 20+ years Tenzin has performed at festivals across Australia and curated numerous events and concerts including Brisbane’s annual Festival of Tibet. Internationally he has performed in New Zealand\, Japan\, India\, Germany\, Bangladesh\, Russia and USA\, including performances at New York’s Carnegie Hall. He has also opened many of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Public Talks in Australia\, New Zealand and Japan with his musical offerings. \nDuring this event\, Tenzin will be playing live music to the yin yoga class guided by Erin Lee. \nSinger\, dancer and multi-instrumentalist\, Tenzin Kunsang was born and raised in the Tibetan refugee community in Northern India. Tenzin studied at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA)\, one of the first institutions established by Dalai Lama. TIPA aims to keep traditional Tibetan performance culture alive. He is one of TIPA’s most prominent graduates\, showcasing Tibetan folk and classical music and dance for audiences around the world. Tenzin has lived in Nagano\, Japan since 2010. In 2017 he released his first album\, Sounds of Wind Horse and recently provided the score for a popular Japanese TV series.\n\nDuring this event\, Tenzin Kunsang will be performing a Black Hat Tibetan Dance\, for removing obstacles.

DESCRIPTION:Harvard psychiatrist Dr. Joseph Loizzo promotes combining Eastern and Western psychological approaches to emphasise the growing recognition of the health benefits of meditation and yoga. He suggests that these ancient contemplative maps and practices are compatible with modern understandings of the nervous system. Dr. Loizzo explores the subtle body model from a Western neuroecopsychological perspective\, linking the mental\, physical\, and energetic aspects of the body. Central to this is the concept of the “subtle body” (suksma-sarira)\, a detailed framework that includes elements such as channels (nadi)\, energy centres (chakras)\, and vital energies (prana). Unlike the gross physical body\, the subtle body illustrates how mental and physical processes interact\, influencing overall well-being.
