SUMMARY:Find Balance through Sound (self paced)
DESCRIPTION:Self Paced event. Find a deeper connection to stillness and life through the yoga of sound. Chanting is known to: Increase breath control\n\nInfluence heart rate\n\nLower blood pressure\n\nEase muscle tension\n\nImprove digestion\n\nReduce pain and assist healing\n\nActivate different part of the brain\n\nStimulate learning and memory\n\nHelp us focus on positive words and phrases\, involving gratitude and peace\n\nUnite people and enhance a sense of connection with others\n\nHelp prepare for pranayama\, meditation or prayer\n\nMay reduce snoring by toning the muscles of the throatThrough practice\, we draw senses inward to quiet the mind. In this stillness\, we can experience more subtle aspects of being that resides beyond the mind; a oneness and wholeness with all of life and a sense of profound peace. Mantra is a reminder to treat our words as sacred\, creative and divine.   What we think and say\, we create.  Inspired by Deepak Chopra’s ‘Seven Spiritual Laws of Success’\, these 10-15 minute seated practices offer reflection\, self enquiry\, connection and stillness through mantra repetition (japa) and meditation.  There are 7 recordings in this series which run through my ‘Radiant Wellbeing’ APP so you can practice anywhere\, anytime.

DESCRIPTION:What is “fusion yoga”?\nIt’s a blend of (often opposing) yoga styles in one session that takes the student from one state of being to another. \nMany people recognise the Taiji symbol of Yin/Yang – one black and one white teardrop shape that merge into each other\, encompassed by a circle. Each teardrop contains within it a small “seed” of the other\, to acknowledge the dualistic nature of the world\, it’s forces and its inhabitants. \nMost yoga practices are Yang in nature. They involve movement\, flow of energy (Prana/Qi)\, are heat-building\, and work your muscles. \nYin Yoga is the practice of stillness and surrender. Placing intentional tension on fascia\, tendons\, ligaments and bones to slowly allow for expansion. \nJoin me as I guide you on a 90-minute journey from Yin to Yang to Yin once more so you can experience the build up and fluctuations of energy\, breath and heartbeat before being brought to rest and soothe in Savasana (Final Relaxation on the floor). \n… \nAll practices in this Immersion are beginner friendly with variations offered so that you may experience yoga your way.\nYoga mats and props are provided (but you may bring your own if you wish). \nSimply bring yourself in comfortable clothing\, with a water bottle and a curious mind. \n… \nTania Alexander Yoga operates from the first floor of Deshi-Do Martial Arts Studio at 104 Ferntree Gully Road in Oakleigh East\, close to the Monash Freeway and Chadstone Shopping Centre.\nThe studio is located at the back of the business park. \nEnter via the driveway between Reg Harris Reserve and Club Lime gym on Ferntree Gully Road (note the huge red pylon with 104 next to the driveway) and head up the hill to the roundabout\, where you will see the entrance to Deshi-Do Martial Arts. \nDuring this Special Event\, free parking is available anywhere within the business park and in surrounding streets. \nPlease keep the 2 spaces immediately in front of the studio doors free of cars for the safety of all attendees. \n… \nTo learn more about Tania\, her yoga teaching style and offerings\, as well as student testimonials and full terms & conditions\, please visit www.tayoga.com.au

SUMMARY:VEDIC CHANTING CLASSES
DESCRIPTION:Improve your memory and focus. –  Reduce mental agitation  –  Increase your breath capacity. –  Improve listening and communication skills –  Find and refine your own voice  –   Increase your self confidence. –  Strengthen you spiritual connection  –  Gain an overall sense of well-being!! \nVedic Chanting is yoga\, it is concentration\, meditation\, it is prāṇāyāma\, it is jñāna and it is bhakti. It is a commitment to learning something very deep. \nI am asked what the Vedas have to do with Yoga. Well\, the Vedas contain it\, the Vedas are themselves Yoga. That is what this is all about. \nThat said\, you don’t need anything to practice and learn. If you want to know something in you that will surprise you a lot\, this will surely interest you. It is not easy\, but it is enriching. It is not quick\, but it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. \nChanting controls and transforms the Prāṇā\, it is a feeling of merging with the Universal vibration\, and it is rediscovering oneself anew in a practice very little known in the West. \nIn these classes you will learn how to pronounce Sanskrit\, you will learn the correct way to recite some Vedic mantras\, such as the popular Gāyatrī\, as it was taught in ancient times\, unchanged\, orally and following the rules of a South Indian lineage. \nYou don’t need to know how to sing\, or how to tune\,  in Vedic Chanting we only use 3 notes not 7 as in music \, this makes it accessible to everyone! \nChanting classes are conducted seated\, either on the floor or on a chair. It is important to feel comfortable so that you are able to focus only on the sound.  All chants will be taught through a “call and response” methodology\, using the aid of chant texts. The basic rules of Chanting\, along with general meanings of chants will be explained. \nThese classes are for you if you want to learn more about mantra practice. If you are a yoga teacher or student and you want to introduce Chanting in your classes or you want to work with mantras in your personal practice \nhttps://dendupratyoga.com/vedic-chant/ \n

SUMMARY:Amavasya Meditation - Embracing Cosmic Beginnings
DESCRIPTION:Life often seems to work in cycles\, and the lunar phases can be one of the most impactful cycles in our daily lives. Through the waxing and waning phrases\, each step in the lunar event cycle brings its own unique angle. \n  \nA new moon is one of the best astrological gifts you can get. It refers to the astrological event where the moon sets off a brand-new cycle of light and brings renewed energy that permeates everything from our mood to our mindset. \n  \nOf all the moon phases\, this is one of the very best times for personal growth and self-reflection as well as setting intentions\, revisiting your goals\, and taking stock of where you have been and where you are going. \n  \nVishwaguruji says in his autobiography: “Amavasya – new moon\, is a very powerful constellation and – as with the full moon – its energy is auspicious for some things and inauspicious for others. It is advised to dedicate this time to spiritual work – ceremonies and prayers”. \n  \nBy donation or use your class pass. BOOK HERE.

SUMMARY:Meditation for Building Immense Silent Inner Strength
DESCRIPTION:Early and current hardships—whether physical and mental abuse\, learning disorders\, deep mental suffering\, physical pain\, the loss of loved ones\, eating disorders\, or obesity—can serve as profound opportunities for deep self-reflection. When approached with courage and introspection\, these struggles can become opportunities to transcend limiting beliefs\, transforming them into remarkable superhuman capabilities of heart and mind. It is often taught across various traditions\, that those who have endured the most who find themselves on the path to self-transcendence. This retreat will guide you on a journey of inner transformation\, inspired by ancient wisdom and modern insights\, drawing from your own experiences to remind you that love is your natural state. \nA vast\, quiet mind is essential for true liberation\, and one of the core principles of this retreat is harnessing the power of silence\, as taught by mystics like Teresa of Avila and Ramana Maharshi. Teresa spoke of the “prayer of quiet\,” a profound state of inner stillness that calms the mind and connects you to your true essence. Similarly\, Ramana Maharshi emphasised\, “Silence is the true teaching. It is the perfect instruction.” By embracing this inner silence\, you will learn to navigate and direct your inner dialogue\, cultivating greater discipline and deep inner strength. \nThis retreat focuses on inner stillness as the path to clarity and peace\, allowing you to rise above external demands and internal conflicts. Through the practices of non-attachment and introspection\, you can transcend the limitations of the mind\, revealing the unchanging essence within. As Ramana Maharshi said\, “Silence is ever speaking; it is the perennial flow of language\,” and Meister Eckhart echoes its deep value\, “Absolute stillness for as long as possible is best of all for you.” This retreat will guide you in exploring this silence\, fostering profound inner discipline and transformation. Join senior teacher Celia Roberts BSc as she gently guides you inward\, helping you connect with your own truth and the boundless peace that lies within.
