SUMMARY:SOUTHERN INDIA YĀTRĀ
DESCRIPTION:From the Mountains to the Sea**January 9 to 24\, 2026 \nThere is a moment in every temple when the world softens. The stone floor feels warm with centuries of devotion. You step forward and feel the vibration of a thousand prayers beneath your feet. The ritual is simple. You shower\, you adorn yourself in a sari or salwar kameez\, you leave your shoes and your intellect at the gate\, and you open to a felt sense of connection that rises from the ground up. \nMany women join this journey after feeling a pull they cannot explain. A quiet tug in the heart. A knowing that the time is now. \n“I feel a pull\, unexplainable but so right.”“I’ve been curious about India for so long. I feel called.”“I want to bathe in all India has to teach me.” \nThis is how pilgrimage begins. Not from logic. From something deeper. \nThis Yātrā is a sacred and culturally rich journey through Tamil Nadu\, my home away from home. Since 2014 I have guided groups through South India with care\, clarity and deep respect for the culture and traditions we meet along the way. As a senior yoga teacher\, long term student of Dr NC and dedicated practitioner\, my role is to support you\, help you feel safe\, and open doors to experiences you could not access on your own. You are held by years of practice\, study and lived connection. \nTogether we travel from Chennai to the southern tip of India. SUMMARY:BIYOME Evening Dark Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Join Celia Roberts BSc for a profound evening immersion into the ancient practice of dark retreat\, inspired by the teachings of Tibetan Master Namkhai Norbu and Dr. Andrew Holecek\, renowned scholar of Tibetan Buddhism\, lucid dreaming\, and meditation. Holecek describes dark retreat as “meditation on steroids”. Dark Retreat is a powerful method of inner exploration\, growth\, and awakening\, with the dark being considered such a valuable feminine teacher.\n\nDarkness has long been revered for its ability to restore balance\, quiet mental noise\, and awaken the luminous mind (prabhāsvarā). In the Tibetan tradition\, dark retreat (mun mtshams) is closely associated with advanced Dzogchen practices such as yangti\, where time in complete darkness is used to deepen awareness and accelerate contemplative insight. Contemporary research supports these traditional insights\, showing that extended time in darkness influences circadian rhythms\, alters melatonin and DMT levels\, and produces measurable effects on brain and body states\, facilitating deep rest\, perceptual shifts\, and transformative healing. It may help manage sensory processing challenges.\n\nAt BIYOME\, our Evening Dark Retreat Practice provides a safe and supportive environment to begin this path of night-time meditation. Through stillness\, gentle movement\, and guided contemplations\, participants will directly experience how the absence of light can open new depths of clarity\, non-dual awareness\, self-realisation and spiritual awakening.\n\nEvening Program – Saturday\, January 3rd\, 2026 | 5.30pm – 8.30pm\n\n 5.30 – 6.00pm Evening Twilight Yoga Preparatory Practice\n 6.00 – 6.30pm Techniques for Lucid Dreaming & Dream Yoga\n 6.30 – 8.30pm Dark Retreat Meditation in complete darkness (restorative yoga postures provided; please bring a sleep mask Manta Pro Sleep mask recommendation here). One candle will gently light the room as required.\n\nLocation: BIYOME\nInvestment: $148\n\nPlease bring a sleep mask\, water\, a pillow and layered clothing for warm and cold temperatures

SUMMARY:VEDIC CHANTING CLASSES
DESCRIPTION:Improve your memory and focus. –  Reduce mental agitation  –  Increase your breath capacity. –  Improve listening and communication skills –  Find and refine your own voice  –   Increase your self confidence. –  Strengthen you spiritual connection  –  Gain an overall sense of well-being!! \nVedic Chanting is yoga\, it is concentration\, meditation\, it is prāṇāyāma\, it is jñāna and it is bhakti. It is a commitment to learning something very deep. \nI am asked what the Vedas have to do with Yoga. Well\, the Vedas contain it\, the Vedas are themselves Yoga. That is what this is all about. \nThat said\, you don’t need anything to practice and learn. If you want to know something in you that will surprise you a lot\, this will surely interest you. It is not easy\, but it is enriching. It is not quick\, but it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. \nChanting controls and transforms the Prāṇā\, it is a feeling of merging with the Universal vibration\, and it is rediscovering oneself anew in a practice very little known in the West. \nIn these classes you will learn how to pronounce Sanskrit\, you will learn the correct way to recite some Vedic mantras\, such as the popular Gāyatrī\, as it was taught in ancient times\, unchanged\, orally and following the rules of a South Indian lineage. \nYou don’t need to know how to sing\, or how to tune\,  in Vedic Chanting we only use 3 notes not 7 as in music \, this makes it accessible to everyone! \nChanting classes are conducted seated\, either on the floor or on a chair. It is important to feel comfortable so that you are able to focus only on the sound.  All chants will be taught through a “call and response” methodology\, using the aid of chant texts. The basic rules of Chanting\, along with general meanings of chants will be explained. \nThese classes are for you if you want to learn more about mantra practice. If you are a yoga teacher or student and you want to introduce Chanting in your classes or you want to work with mantras in your personal practice \nhttps://dendupratyoga.com/vedic-chant/ \n
