SUMMARY:Parent and Child Yoga at Yogita Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Are you looking for something to do with your child that is fun and relaxing both at the same time?\nJoin Antje from Flow and Grow Family Yoga at Yogita Yoga studio in Highgate for an afternoon of joyful connection with your little one!\n \nAntje’s family yoga sessions are neither adult yoga with kids\, nor kids’ yoga with adults. Instead\, classes are designed specifically to deepen the connection between you and your child.\n \nWe will be weaving together elements of play and storytelling\, asana (yoga postures) and mindfulness practices\, relaxation techniques\, a dash of acro yoga\, and each participant’s own creative spirit. \nAlong the way\, we’ll release stress and anxiety\, connect with our (inner) child\, and strengthen body and mind. \nNo previous yoga experience is required! \nTwo session times on offer: \n\nSession 1 at 2pm for parents and children aged 3-5 years\nSession 2 at 3.15pm for parents and children aged 6-12 years\n\nTESTIMONIALS \n“My 4.5 year old and I had a ball at Antje’s family yoga class. It was fun\, creative\, energising\, and calming all at the same time. Most of all it was a wonderful opportunity for one-on-one connection\, especially important now that my child has a younger sibling. Thank you for the beautiful class\, we’re both looking forward to coming back soon!” (Lara\, mother of two)\n \n“My 8 year old daughter and I have absolutely loved each and every aspect of Antje’s parents and kids yoga sessions. Each class we’ve attended has had a different theme which has captured my daughter’s imagination and sense of fun but what I have loved most is the chance to share yoga with my child\, connect without outside pressures and look into each other’s eyes as we play\, move\, dance and rest! Antje is a warm\, grounded\, calm and professional yogi with a true gift for teaching and holding space for families.” (Emmy\, mother of two)\n \n“I brought my daughter here for a parent/child yoga class and it was a really lovely experience. Antje was a wonderful instructor with thoughtful and intentional components for both the children and the adults. We loved it!” (Linly)\n \n“I’ve done a few different family yoga classes and Antje’s recent class in Aldinga\, SA\, has been my favourite by far. She has such a lovely presence\, and I love her emphasis on connection. I actually became a bit emotional in the final cuddle part of the session – it really emphasised for me how much we don’t make time to just BE with our kids enough\, especially 1:1. My 5yo LOVED it\, and we both look forward to more classes!“ (Nicole\, mother of three) \n“I had the best time and the parent child yoga with Antje. Some special time with just my older daughter. Antje creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere and really knows how to involve children. We had fun\, we stretched\, played and relaxed. I would highly recommend her classes if you are looking for a class that incorporates both the parent and the child. We will definitely be back! Thank you!” (Corinna\, mother of two)\n \nPlease note: \nAs the focus is on one-on-one connection\, a one child/one grown-up policy applies. If you’re interested in a Family Yoga for All session\, please consider joining my mailing list to stay in the loop for upcoming sessions the whole family can attend. \nPrice is per adult-child couple (=2 people).

SUMMARY:The Nectar of Prāṇāyāma Advanced Practice and Teaching Immersion
DESCRIPTION:We will immerse  in-person to experience an uplifting combination of practice\, techniques\, and the principles of Prāṇāyāma through study and practice. Committed students and teachers from all backgrounds are welcome.  \n  \nYou will gain a deeper understanding of the hows and the whys of Prāṇāyāma so that you can confidently practice and perhaps lead specific breath classes and expand this into your current classes and private sessions. My hope is that you will also refine and expand your ability to design and teach a well-thought-out and effective Prāṇāyāma practice with a particular goal in mind. \n \nAs my teacher\, Dr. Candrasekaran\, says\, “ Every technique in Yoga is like clay. Whatever product comes out of a lump of clay is entirely in the hand of the potter. In the same way\, whatever effect comes out of a Yoga technique is entirely in the hands and teaching methodology of the teacher.”  \n  \nWe will unpack some of the ancient texts. In Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras\, he defines Prāṇāyāma (2;49)\, he gives a method (2.50) and the benefits/fruits of practice (2.51 & 2.52). In this course\, you will gain a deeper understanding of the classical Prāṇāyāmas as taught in the Krishnamaracya tradition. We will chant and reflect on Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras\, some quotes from the Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā\, Bhairava Tantra\, and Bhagavad Gītā. These ancient texts invite us into the symbolism\, intention\, and results of a committed Prāṇāyāma practice.  \n“Practice Prāṇāyāma with attention\, then when the breathbecomes long and smooth\, the mind is ready for meditation” Krishnamacharya  \nTechniques we will cover: \n \n\n\n \nPūraka Prāṇāyāma  \n\n \nRecaka Prāṇāyāma  \n\n \nKumbhaka  \n\n \nUjjāyī \n\n \nAnuloma ujjāyī \n\n \nViloma ujjāyī \n\n \nCandra bedana \n\n \nSūrya bedana \n\n \nNadi śodhana \n\n \nSītali \n\n \nKapālabhāti \n\n\n  \nPrinciples of Prāṇāyāma covered  \n \n\n\n \nThree gates of awareness Prāṇāyāma -Desa (place/technique)- Kala (time/rhythm) – Samkhya (repetition/number) \n\n \nVinyāsa of Prāṇāyāma – the order we work in \n\n \nEnergetics / kleśa / Prāna / Agni / Mala \n\n \nBrmhana\, langhana\, Samāna  \n\n \nĀsana considerations in preparation for Prāṇāyāma  \n\n \n1;1 breath assessment & coaching \n\n \nTeaching techniques\, breaking things down\, modifications  \n\n \nApplication – what and when to teach  \n\n \nBreath ratios in sitting & in āsana (Visamavrtti / Samavrtti) \n\n \nMantra & Bhavana in prāṇāyāma \n\n \nBandha as an extension of Prāṇāyāma \n\n \nThe art and science of class design  \n\n\n \n \nDates\, timings\, and inclusions: \n \n\n\n \n22nd & 23rd November 10am – 4pm day in-peron immersion at Samadhi Yoga Shala\, 134 Grove Road\, Lesmurdie 6076 WA \n\n \nMaximum of 15 students  \n\n \nPrinted handouts provided   \n\n \nCertificates and CPD points are available for those with memberships to Yoga Australia or Yoga Alliance.  \n\n \nPlease bring a light nourishing lunch with you \n\n\n \nInvestment \n$320 Early bird if paid in full by 1st November \n$380 Full Price

SUMMARY:Exploring The Breath- The Breathing Exercises of Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Just as our thoughts and emotions can affect how we breathe\, the way we breathe also shapes our mental state. When we work with the breath\, our aim is to bring calm and focus to the mind\, preparing it for meditation. People wonder can Pranayama can be risky\, but it is no more unsafe than practicing Asanas when done correctly. Pranayama simply means mindful\, intentional breathing and  as long as we remain aware of how our body responds there is no cause for concern.

SUMMARY:VEDIC CHANTING CLASSES
DESCRIPTION:Improve your memory and focus. –  Reduce mental agitation  –  Increase your breath capacity. –  Improve listening and communication skills –  Find and refine your own voice  –   Increase your self confidence. –  Strengthen you spiritual connection  –  Gain an overall sense of well-being!! \nVedic Chanting is yoga\, it is concentration\, meditation\, it is prāṇāyāma\, it is jñāna and it is bhakti. It is a commitment to learning something very deep. \nI am asked what the Vedas have to do with Yoga. Well\, the Vedas contain it\, the Vedas are themselves Yoga. That is what this is all about. \nThat said\, you don’t need anything to practice and learn. If you want to know something in you that will surprise you a lot\, this will surely interest you. It is not easy\, but it is enriching. It is not quick\, but it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. \nChanting controls and transforms the Prāṇā\, it is a feeling of merging with the Universal vibration\, and it is rediscovering oneself anew in a practice very little known in the West. \nIn these classes you will learn how to pronounce Sanskrit\, you will learn the correct way to recite some Vedic mantras\, such as the popular Gāyatrī\, as it was taught in ancient times\, unchanged\, orally and following the rules of a South Indian lineage. \nYou don’t need to know how to sing\, or how to tune\,  in Vedic Chanting we only use 3 notes not 7 as in music \, this makes it accessible to everyone! \nChanting classes are conducted seated\, either on the floor or on a chair. It is important to feel comfortable so that you are able to focus only on the sound.  All chants will be taught through a “call and response” methodology\, using the aid of chant texts. The basic rules of Chanting\, along with general meanings of chants will be explained. \nThese classes are for you if you want to learn more about mantra practice. If you are a yoga teacher or student and you want to introduce Chanting in your classes or you want to work with mantras in your personal practice \nhttps://dendupratyoga.com/vedic-chant/ \n

SUMMARY:Vedic Meditation - Mantra Meditation & Marma Point Sound Healing
DESCRIPTION:With Celia Roberts (Ayurveda)\, Anita Cassidy Bowman (Nada Yoga)\, & Tumul Dubey (Sanskrit) \nSound is the vehicle of transcendence that we will explore during this meditation retreat. Using the practice of mantra\, we will facilitate the flow of prana through the marma points\, essential energy centres in the body. Mantras act as a protective shield\, known as “kavacha” in Sanskrit\, and this retreat will teach you how to use sound to heal and protect these vulnerable areas. Through this integration of mantra and marma therapy\, you will discover how to promote physical\, emotional\, and energetic well-being. Mantras are considered to be asanas\, or yoga postures\, for the mind. \nThe retreat introduces Mantra Purusha\, a daily practice that blends the ancient Sanskrit alphabet with the body’s sound vibrations to nourish and heal each marma point. This Ayurvedic approach can help you achieve greater self-awareness\, inner peace\, spiritual growth\, and enlightenment. We invite you to join us for this special end-of-year retreat and immerse yourself in the transformative power of sound\, mantra\, and marma point healing. Secure your spot and embark on this unique journey towards balance and transcendence and be graced by the beautiful Vedic chants of three teachers who fully live by and immerse themselves in the Vedic science of sound and healing.

SUMMARY:ONLINE Special Event: Polyvagal Theory\, Glimmers\, and Triggers
DESCRIPTION:“Triggered” is a word we hear all the time. Simply living in a neoliberal society with all its expectations can be “triggering.” In terms of mental health\, past traumas\, difficult experiences\, and situational stressors can “trigger” anxiety\, shame\, overwhelm\, and panic.\n\nWe often have to work with our triggers or difficult emotions. But what if we actually started to focus on and nurture “glimmers”? For us\, this practice moves away from pathologising/deficits and moves towards hope\, beauty\, and joy. This not only has a positive impact on our mental health but also opens the doors to daily moments of mindfulness. Working with glimmers can itself be a spiritual practice.\n\nLed by: Jean Byrne\, PhD\, Mental Health Researcher\, Provisional Psychologist\, and Senior Yoga Teacher & Rob Schutze\, Senior Research Fellow\, Senior Yoga Teacher\, and Senior Clinical Psychologist.\n\n \n\nCost:\nFree for all members\n$38 for non-members

SUMMARY:Parent and Child Yoga at Sol Yoga\, Willunga
DESCRIPTION:Are you looking for something to do with your child that is fun and relaxing both at the same time? Join Antje from Flow and Grow Family Yoga for an afternoon of joyful connection with your little one!\nAntje’s family yoga sessions are neither adult yoga with kids\, nor kids’ yoga with adults. \nTwo session times on offer: \n\nSession 1 at 2pm for parents and children aged 3-5 years\nSession 2 at 3.15pm for parents and children aged 6-12 years\n\nTESTIMONIALS \n\n“My 4.5 year old and I had a ball at Antje’s family yoga class. It was fun\, creative\, energising\, and calming all at the same time. Most of all it was a wonderful opportunity for one-on-one connection\, especially important now that my child has a younger sibling. Thank you for the beautiful class\, we’re both looking forward to coming back soon!” (Lara\, mother of two) \n \n\n\n“My 8 year old daughter and I have absolutely loved each and every aspect of Antje’s parents and kids yoga sessions. Each class we’ve attended has had a different theme which has captured my daughter’s imagination and sense of fun but what I have loved most is the chance to share yoga with my child\, connect without outside pressures and look into each other’s eyes as we play\, move\, dance and rest! Antje is a warm\, grounded\, calm and professional yogi with a true gift for teaching and holding space for families.” (Emmy\, mother of two) \n \n\n\n“I brought my daughter here for a parent/child yoga class and it was a really lovely experience. Antje was a wonderful instructor with thoughtful and intentional components for both the children and the adults. We loved it!” (Linly) \n\n\n“I’ve done a few different family yoga classes and Antje’s recent class in Aldinga\, SA\, has been my favourite by far. She has such a lovely presence\, and I love her emphasis on connection. I actually became a bit emotional in the final cuddle part of the session – it really emphasised for me how much we don’t make time to just BE with our kids enough\, especially 1:1. My 5yo LOVED it\, and we both look forward to more classes!“ (Nicole\, mother of three) \n\n\n“Amazing parent/child workshop today. My son is so excited to return. Thank you Antje.” (Torri\, mother of one) \n\n\n“We did the 5 week family yoga workshop and it was such a treat! We both really enjoyed spending time together and the classes were perfectly tailored for children. It was so much more fun and imaginative than I ever expected. Would highly recommend and would definitely do another one!” (Kellie Anne\, mother of two) \n \n\nPlease note: \nAs the focus is on one-on-one connection\, a one child/one grown-up policy applies. If you’re interested in a Family Yoga for All session\, please consider joining my mailing list to stay in the loop for upcoming sessions the whole family can attend. \nPrice is per adult-child couple (=2 people).

SUMMARY:The Permanent Change In The Spiritually Awakened Brain
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Andrew Newberg’s research on the spiritually awakened brain sheds light on the profound concept of permanent change—a transformation that can occur within an individual’s brain\, body\, and overall life. This transformation often manifests as a deep shift in relationships\, self-perception\, and worldview\, offering a new understanding of the self and the world that enhances the human experience. Changes in the brain linked to spiritual awakening include long-lasting alterations in the dopaminergic-serotonin system\, which are associated with increased happiness and well-being. Additionally\, elevated baseline levels of oxytocin\, a hormone linked to social bonding\, empathy\, and a sense of interconnectedness\, serve as markers of this transformation. \nCentral to Newberg’s findings is the concept of no-self\, where the self is seen not as a fixed entity but as a fluid\, ever-evolving process. This shift in self-understanding fosters a greater awareness of the interconnectedness of all things. This retreat offers a unique opportunity to explore these transformative insights and their impact on our sense of purpose and connection to the world. By moving beyond egoic self-identification and embracing the idea of no-self\, participants will gain a deeper understanding of their oneness with the ultimate creation\, both scientifically and spiritually. As we learn to see the self as a dynamic process rather than a static identity\, we open ourselves to a more liberated and interconnected way of being. \nJoin us for the sacred conclusion to this valuable retreat series\, where we will delve into the essence of the spiritually awakened brain and its potential to inspire lasting\, positive change in our lives and the world around us.
