SUMMARY:BIYOME Evening Dark Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Join Celia Roberts BSc for a profound evening immersion into the ancient practice of dark retreat\, inspired by the teachings of Tibetan Master Namkhai Norbu and Dr. Andrew Holecek\, renowned scholar of Tibetan Buddhism\, lucid dreaming\, and meditation. Holecek describes dark retreat as “meditation on steroids”. Dark Retreat is a powerful method of inner exploration\, growth\, and awakening\, with the dark being considered such a valuable feminine teacher.\n\nDarkness has long been revered for its ability to restore balance\, quiet mental noise\, and awaken the luminous mind (prabhāsvarā). In the Tibetan tradition\, dark retreat (mun mtshams) is closely associated with advanced Dzogchen practices such as yangti\, where time in complete darkness is used to deepen awareness and accelerate contemplative insight. Contemporary research supports these traditional insights\, showing that extended time in darkness influences circadian rhythms\, alters melatonin and DMT levels\, and produces measurable effects on brain and body states\, facilitating deep rest\, perceptual shifts\, and transformative healing. It may help manage sensory processing challenges.\n\nAt BIYOME\, our Evening Dark Retreat Practice provides a safe and supportive environment to begin this path of night-time meditation. Through stillness\, gentle movement\, and guided contemplations\, participants will directly experience how the absence of light can open new depths of clarity\, non-dual awareness\, self-realisation and spiritual awakening.\n\nEvening Program – Saturday\, January 3rd\, 2026 | 5.30pm – 8.30pm\n\n 5.30 – 6.00pm Evening Twilight Yoga Preparatory Practice\n 6.00 – 6.30pm Techniques for Lucid Dreaming & Dream Yoga\n 6.30 – 8.30pm Dark Retreat Meditation in complete darkness (restorative yoga postures provided; please bring a sleep mask Manta Pro Sleep mask recommendation here). One candle will gently light the room as required.\n\nLocation: BIYOME\nInvestment: $148\n\nPlease bring a sleep mask\, water\, a pillow and layered clothing for warm and cold temperatures

SUMMARY:Vedic Meditation - Mantra Meditation & Marma Point Sound Healing
DESCRIPTION:With Celia Roberts (Ayurveda)\, Anita Cassidy Bowman (Nada Yoga)\, & Tumul Dubey (Sanskrit) \nSound is the vehicle of transcendence that we will explore during this meditation retreat. Using the practice of mantra\, we will facilitate the flow of prana through the marma points\, essential energy centres in the body. Mantras act as a protective shield\, known as “kavacha” in Sanskrit\, and this retreat will teach you how to use sound to heal and protect these vulnerable areas. Through this integration of mantra and marma therapy\, you will discover how to promote physical\, emotional\, and energetic well-being. Mantras are considered to be asanas\, or yoga postures\, for the mind. \nThe retreat introduces Mantra Purusha\, a daily practice that blends the ancient Sanskrit alphabet with the body’s sound vibrations to nourish and heal each marma point. This Ayurvedic approach can help you achieve greater self-awareness\, inner peace\, spiritual growth\, and enlightenment. We invite you to join us for this special end-of-year retreat and immerse yourself in the transformative power of sound\, mantra\, and marma point healing. Secure your spot and embark on this unique journey towards balance and transcendence and be graced by the beautiful Vedic chants of three teachers who fully live by and immerse themselves in the Vedic science of sound and healing.

SUMMARY:The Permanent Change In The Spiritually Awakened Brain
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Andrew Newberg’s research on the spiritually awakened brain sheds light on the profound concept of permanent change—a transformation that can occur within an individual’s brain\, body\, and overall life. This transformation often manifests as a deep shift in relationships\, self-perception\, and worldview\, offering a new understanding of the self and the world that enhances the human experience. Changes in the brain linked to spiritual awakening include long-lasting alterations in the dopaminergic-serotonin system\, which are associated with increased happiness and well-being. Additionally\, elevated baseline levels of oxytocin\, a hormone linked to social bonding\, empathy\, and a sense of interconnectedness\, serve as markers of this transformation. \nCentral to Newberg’s findings is the concept of no-self\, where the self is seen not as a fixed entity but as a fluid\, ever-evolving process. This shift in self-understanding fosters a greater awareness of the interconnectedness of all things. This retreat offers a unique opportunity to explore these transformative insights and their impact on our sense of purpose and connection to the world. By moving beyond egoic self-identification and embracing the idea of no-self\, participants will gain a deeper understanding of their oneness with the ultimate creation\, both scientifically and spiritually. As we learn to see the self as a dynamic process rather than a static identity\, we open ourselves to a more liberated and interconnected way of being. \nJoin us for the sacred conclusion to this valuable retreat series\, where we will delve into the essence of the spiritually awakened brain and its potential to inspire lasting\, positive change in our lives and the world around us.

SUMMARY:Breathwork - A Journey into the Superconsciousness States
DESCRIPTION:Join Senior Yoga Teacher\, Celia Roberts BSc and Breathworker Alisa Craig for this special opportunity for you to explore your own states of consciousness at our Friday meditation retreat. These elevated states of awareness\, often referred to as “superconsciousness\,” have been mapped out in both yogic and Buddhist traditions\, called the Samadhi states and the Jhanas. Now\, thanks to modern research\, we also have scientific evidence that sheds light on what happens to the mind and body as we engage in rhythmic and somatic breathing practices. \nWe’ll begin the day with Compassion-Focused Therapy exercises\, helping to ground and embody a sense of safety before moving into deeper states of awareness. This will set the foundation for your nervous system to gently transition into altered states of consciousness. Afterward we will engage in a holotropic style of Breathwork practice for up to an hour. This style of breathing allows our nervous system and psyche to expand into a more open state of consciousness\, in that state it provides the opportunity to rewire\, repattern and recalibrate to become “whole”. Following the breathing will be a longer integration and reflection period – allowing those sacred “aha” moments to arise. \nParticipants will have the option to explore either open-mouthed holotropic breathwork\, which can evoke powerful shifts\, or a gentler\, closed-mouth breathing technique that may offer a more expansive experience for some. This will be a gentle day of nurture and holding. \nCelia Roberts will gently and safely guide you through yogic practices using the three essential tools that have been used throughout the ages to expand states of consciousness: breath\, body\, and mind. These foundational elements of yoga will be integrated to help you access deeper levels of awareness\, facilitating self-realisation. \nAlisa Craig\, with her fine mastery of breath\, will invite you to use your breath medicinally for healing. Celia and Alisa both invite you to use your breath to enter expansive states of consciousness where the thoughts can dissipate\, the default mode network switches off and one can enter into what the yogis call the Samadhi states. These states reveal the absolute truth to the seer.

SUMMARY:The Science of Self-Realisation & Liberation
DESCRIPTION:Liberation\, a concept deeply rooted in various cultures and religions\, refers to the release or freedom from limitations—whether physical\, mental\, or spiritual. Often associated with self-realisation\, enlightenment\, and transcendence\, liberation in a spiritual context typically means breaking free from the cycle of birth\, death\, and rebirth\, known as samsara. Achieving this state is frequently pursued through higher-level spiritual practices such as meditation\, yoga\, and prayer. \nLiberation involves transcending the constraints of the ego\, allowing individuals to connect with their deeper spiritual essence and experience true freedom. Dr. Lisa Miller’s research on the awakened brain identifies five observable traits shared across religious and spiritual traditions: altruism\, love of one’s neighbour as oneself\, a sense of oneness\, the practice of sacred transcendence\, and adherence to a moral code. By consciously cultivating these traits\, individuals can strengthen their “muscle of transcendent awareness\,” leading to a more profound spiritual experience. Miller’s findings suggest that spirituality and religiosity are innate and heritable traits that can be nurtured through environmental influences over a person’s lifetime. \nJoin us as we explore the science of self-realisation and liberation\, delving into practices that elevate consciousness and connect us with the profound truth of our spiritual nature through meditation and mindful awareness. \nSource The Awakened Brain – Become One with the Rhythm of Life – The BioMedical Institute of Yoga & Meditation

SUMMARY:The Subtle Body: An Interoceptive Map of Central Nervous System Function
DESCRIPTION:Explore the transformative power of meditation on the subtle body at our unique retreat\, guided by the pioneering research of Harvard psychiatrist Dr. Joseph J. Loizzo. This one-of-a-kind experience integrates ancient contemplative practices with cutting-edge neuroscience\, offering a profound exploration of the mind-body connection. The concept of a subtle body within the physical body\, articulated in various forms across different cultures and historical periods\, provides an alternative perspective to mainstream views of the psyche\, which often conceptualise it as either a disembodied mind or a mindless brain. \nThis retreat delves into the model of the subtle body as used in the Buddhist Tantric tradition\, which originated in ancient India and has been preserved in Tibetan teachings. Often perceived as a mystical spiritual essence\, the subtle body is revealed in this session as an embodied neural network that links the physical body-mind to the deeply subtle layers of neurochemical energy\, genetic information\, and lucid intuition. These are seen as the quantum foundation from which all embodied minds\, along with their social and natural environments\, arise. We will begin by exploring the fundamental structure and function of the subtle body in everyday life\, before mapping the contemplative processes that access and harness its energies. These practices aim to transform a trauma-bound body-mind into a fully awakened\, liberated\, and integrated embodiment of lucid intuition and a blissful\, altruistic spirit. During this retreat\, we will explore the subtle body model\, or chakra system—a time-honoured map of central nervous system (CNS) function that has significantly influenced traditional Indian and Tibetan medicine. Discover how this ancient framework aligns with\, and sometimes challenges\, contemporary CNS models. \nThis retreat is perfect for those looking to integrate ancient practices with modern scientific insights. It offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of meditation and its expansive effects on the mind and subtle body. Gain insights into the mechanisms behind mindfulness and its impact on the brain. Additionally\, learn practical\, embodied tools and innovative neurofeedback techniques designed to enhance your meditation practice and deepen your connection with the subtle body.

SUMMARY:The Value of True Compassion
DESCRIPTION:“One compassionate word\, action\, or thought can reduce another person’s suffering and bring him joy. One word can give comfort and confidence\, destroy doubt\, help someone avoid a mistake\, reconcile a conflict\, or open the door to liberation. One action can save a person’s life or help him take advantage of a rare opportunity. One thought can do the same\, because thoughts always lead to words and actions. With compassion in our heart\, every thought\, word\, and deed can bring about a miracle.” \n\nThich Nhat Hanh \nCompassion transcends mere sympathy and understanding; it is a state of being that embodies the witness consciousness\, recognising the inherent light within each being beyond their suffering. By acknowledging our own suffering and questioning its necessity\, we gain insight into the impermanence of all things and the dissolution of the ego. Suffering serves its purpose until we realise its futility. \nOn the spiritual plane\, compassion helps us see that attachment to past and future thoughts and emotions is the root of suffering. It embodies complete\, non-judgmental awareness without an agenda and can be powerfully transmitted through silence—the most profound form of elevating consciousness. True compassion is generously offered in its highest form: silence\, free from the constraints of mind-based communication. It forms a potent therapeutic relationship that elevates consciousness\, serving as a teaching conveyed not through words but through example. When we extend compassion to those who are suffering\, we are not descending into their pain but guiding them through our presence. Compassion is the most powerful tool for raising consciousness and fostering deep connections with others\, resonating from one heart to another in a meditative\, right-brain-to-right-brain way\, a process supported by research in neuroscience. Through compassion\, we transcend judgement\, embody presence\, and offer healing that is both subtle and profound\, elevating ourselves and others in the shared experience of our common humanity. \nJoin us to explore the value of true compassion on this heart opening and mind-expanding meditation retreat.

SUMMARY:Trauma is Stored in The Body – Move Your Body Out of the Past
DESCRIPTION:Join Celia Roberts BSc and Alisa Craig\, for a transformative\, self-exploratory retreat where we will explore how past experiences and emotions are stored within the body and breath. Through heightened psychosomatic awareness\, you will learn to identify where trauma and memories reside\, and discover ways to release them. This retreat will introduce methods to promote unification and harmony through moving meditations. By working with the healing life force—Prana\, Qi\, Chi\, Ki—you will find a path to liberation from the lingering effects of past experiences\, bringing freedom and peace to both body and mind. \nScientific research\, along with ancient yoga sutras\, shows that trauma is not just a mental experience; it leaves imprints on our physical body\, affecting everything from our cells and genes to our posture\, gut health\, and nervous system. In this retreat\, we will use deep meditation and contemplation to address how grief\, shock\, and trauma impact the mind\, muscles\, organs\, and fascia. By drawing attention back to our body and breath\, and fostering connection through movement\, touch\, and eye contact\, we can begin to dissolve the past stored within us. This retreat will touch upon Ayurvedic and Yogic Psychology in combination with Western wisdom. All is for you to experience the freedom of healing\, as we honour the resilience and strength of the human spirit. Book your spot for this retreat and take a step towards deeper understanding and long term recovery. Honouring the gift of impermanence\, anything is possible within you.

SUMMARY:Meditation to Reclaim Your Personal Power
DESCRIPTION:“Power over others is weakness disguised as strength.” \n\n— Eckhart Tolle \nIn life\, many of us find ourselves caught in cycles of pain and suffering\, whether as the abuser or the abused\, in personal or professional relationships. We often feel powerless against these forces. Yet\, there is a way out of this delusion. Instead of directing blame outward\, we must turn inward\, acknowledging our own part in these dynamics. By recognising our mental projections reflected in our external world\, we can begin to refine and polish our inner reflection. This shift empowers us to reclaim our own power\, moving away from feelings of helplessness. Taking ownership of our behaviour can be daunting\, but it is also liberating\, as we realise our minds are the creators of all. As His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche said\, “When someone harms you\, see them as a kind teacher\, showing you the path to liberation and meriting your respect.” Through compassion\, firm intention\, and self-awareness\, we learn that everything in life can be achieved with love and devotion\, without the need for force or control. Ultimately\, we find the balance between the wisdom of complete powerlessness and the profound compassion of being at one with all. \nThis retreat is designed to help you break free from reactive energies and release self-abusive and destructive patterns that may have kept you feeling trapped in vicious cycles. By understanding the impact of habitual mental loops (vasanas) and triggers (samskaras)\, you will gain insight into how these latent impressions shape your behaviour\, often leading to reactions rooted in past experiences. Through meditation\, pranayama\, kriyas and deep contemplation\, this retreat will offer you the opportunity to address deep-seated attitudes and habits\, providing tools to consciously manage emotional reactions and create new virtuous cycles within you and all around you. \nDrawing from Yoga-Vedanta teachings\, the program will explore how vasanas\, karmas\, and samskaras interact with the chakras and kundalini energy\, and how the five shaktis (creation\, preservation\, destruction\, veiling\, and grace) influence our lives. By integrating the three tools of breath\, body\, and mind\, you can transcend reactive responses\, cultivate intentional living\, making your whole life a meditation. Join Senior teachers\, Celia Roberts and Sam Lindsay-German\, as they guide you with fierce compassion to reclaim your personal power. \n\n“Awareness is the power that is concealed within the present moment. The ultimate purpose of human existence\, which is to say\, your purpose\, is to bring that power into this world.” \n\n— Eckhart Tolle

SUMMARY:The Spiritual Teachings of Emptiness or Shunyata
DESCRIPTION:“Thanks to impermanence\, everything is possible. Life itself is possible.” \n\nThich Nhat Hanh\, No Death\, No Fear: Comforting Wisdom for Life \nThe concept of emptiness\, or shunyata\, in yoga and Buddhism is often associated with the realisation that energy is not bound to form\, and that there is a spaciousness or still point underneath all the chaos of the world. This emptiness is not a void\, but a zero point that connects everything and is the essence of all energy. Through deep personal exploration\, we can come to accept impermanence and the gift it brings\, leading to deep internal freedom and a truer understanding of love. We can let go of our attachment to the forms and manifestations of the people we love\, realising that they are still present in different forms\, and that nothing is truly lost or destroyed. The teachings of emptiness remind us of the interconnectedness of all things and offer a path to peace and acceptance in the face of loss and change. \nIn this session we shall explore the science of emptiness both inside and outside the body\, exploring the following line of enquiry: \n\nThe Spiritual Teachings of Emptiness or Shunyata\nHow deep personal exploration and insight can lead to deep internal freedom\nThe acceptance of impermanence within our bodies\, even our breath\nHow impermanence is indeed a miracle\, not something to be feared or resisted\nBecause of the gift of impermanence\, anything is possible

SUMMARY:Meditation for Finding and Achieving Your Unique Purpose
DESCRIPTION:“All that you do to maintain your life\, your everyday work and play\, all your attempts to earn a living\, should be done with sincerity\, love and devotion\, with a firm conviction that true living means virtually perfecting one’s spiritual existence in tune with the universe.” \n\nIndian saint and mystic Sri Anandamayi Ma \nThis retreat invites you to discover or deepen your unique life purpose by uniting ancient spiritual wisdom with modern psychological insights. Our journey will be initially guided by the contemplations of best selling author Robert Greene\, who emphasises self-awareness\, learning from all experiences\, and understanding the dynamics of relationships\, career\, and society. His insights on power\, communication\, and the balance between vulnerability and strength provide valuable guidance for finding your path and building meaningful connections with others. \nA core focus of this retreat is embracing a deeper\, more present sense of purpose\, as taught by Eckhart Tolle. Tolle emphasises that true purpose is not about striving for future goals\, but about fully engaging with the present moment. Our inner purpose is to awaken\, and life brings us exactly the experiences we need to evolve our consciousness\, providing opportunities for growth and self-discovery. This journey of awakening is a shared\, universal experience across humanity. \nBy shifting from a “thought-based” mindset to a state of presence\, you can let go of mental patterns that cause dissatisfaction\, allowing a more harmonious and fulfilling life to emerge. We will also draw on Michael Singer’s teachings\, which show how releasing resistance and accepting reality\, rather than fighting against it\, can lead to lasting happiness\, love\, and spiritual growth. \nThe retreat ultimately draws on Vedic philosophy\, which teaches that the ultimate goal of life is spiritual liberation and realising our oneness with the universe. Late Indian Sage\, Swami Sivananda\, emphasises that the purpose of human birth is to achieve Divine Consciousness\, assuring us that this is attainable within this lifetime. Swami Sivananda encourages us to see the divine in all creation\, purifying and stilling the mind\, and attaining freedom through self-realisation. Participants will be inspired to connect with their inner divinity and understand their spiritual purpose on a deeper level. \nThrough meditation and self-inquiry this retreat offers an opportunity to deepen your self-awareness\, improve your relationships\, your working situation or simply find greater fulfilment in everyday life. It is an opportunity to align with your true purpose and live in harmony with the greater intelligence of the universe\, remembering that You are the Universe and the Universe is within You.

SUMMARY:Meditation for Pain Relief - Listening & Learning From Our Pain
DESCRIPTION:If pain has been a persistent presence in your life\, this retreat is specially designed for you. For many who live with chronic pain\, finding effective relief can be a complex journey. While treatments like medical cannabis and painkillers may offer temporary comfort\, lasting relief often requires a deeper understanding of pain itself. Research has shown that true progress in managing chronic pain comes not from external substances\, but from retraining the brain’s response to pain. Although conventional treatments like cortisol injections and painkillers may provide short-term relief\, they often fail to produce lasting change. Instead\, a thoughtful\, committed approach to reshaping how the brain perceives and responds to pain has proven to be more effective. \nJoin Celia Roberts BSc for “Meditations for Pain Relief\,” where you will learn to engage with pain through stillness\, self-inquiry\, and meditation. Celia’s unique approach emphasises quiet presence\, allowing you to listen and learn from the pain\, understanding the hidden messages it may hold. Pain often has a story to tell\, a hidden past\, and by acknowledging it\, you can begin to transform your relationship with it. This retreat will provide an opportunity for self exploration so you may begin to explore the cause of any physical\, menstrual\, digestive pain\, including headaches and chronic discomfort\, guiding you on a path toward long-term relief and liberation. We will also reflect on current research\, which reveals how an overuse of techniques can disrupt natural biological pathways of safety\, especially important in pain recovery and trauma-informed care. Together\, let us explore how pain\, often our most insightful teacher\, can lead to deeper self-awareness and healing\, not necessarily through more activities or techniques\, but by simply being\, keeping quiet\, and understanding that deep relief and true peace come from within. \nTogether\, let us explore how pain\, often our wisest teacher\, can lead to deeper self-awareness and healing.

SUMMARY:The Insight of Oneness
DESCRIPTION:Oneness – Oneness is experienced through many spiritual and religious practices and is part of the awakened brain experience. The experience of oneness occurs when we become one with the rhythm of life. Here\, the parietal lobes tend to show a reduction in blood flow as we experience oneness or unity. The parietal lobes are responsible for our sense of self in relation to the world. The parietal lobes have a significant reduction in blood flow as we experience oneness and loss of separate self. The parietal lobes are affected during prayer or spiritual practice\, which gives rise to a loss of self\, time and space\, opening the mind into states of samadhi. We become one with all. To have a deeper spiritual understanding is to realise that we are all one. Not only is this philosophically beneficial\, but the evidence here shows how it can be mentally and physically beneficial. Spirituality is not just an idea but a deeper alignment with our truest nature. \nWe will explore one-ness in its truest form with meditation practice and explorer the following self-enquiry questions to awaken human consciousness: \n\nWho is thinking\, seeing\, observing?\nDo we create our reality?\nDo our pain and our past create our present moment?\nIf we do not create our ultimate reality\, who does?\n\nLet us explore a level of enlightened consciousness….oneness with all.

SUMMARY:Meditation for Building Immense Silent Inner Strength
DESCRIPTION:Early and current hardships—whether physical and mental abuse\, learning disorders\, deep mental suffering\, physical pain\, the loss of loved ones\, eating disorders\, or obesity—can serve as profound opportunities for deep self-reflection. When approached with courage and introspection\, these struggles can become opportunities to transcend limiting beliefs\, transforming them into remarkable superhuman capabilities of heart and mind. It is often taught across various traditions\, that those who have endured the most who find themselves on the path to self-transcendence. This retreat will guide you on a journey of inner transformation\, inspired by ancient wisdom and modern insights\, drawing from your own experiences to remind you that love is your natural state. \nA vast\, quiet mind is essential for true liberation\, and one of the core principles of this retreat is harnessing the power of silence\, as taught by mystics like Teresa of Avila and Ramana Maharshi. Teresa spoke of the “prayer of quiet\,” a profound state of inner stillness that calms the mind and connects you to your true essence. Similarly\, Ramana Maharshi emphasised\, “Silence is the true teaching. It is the perfect instruction.” By embracing this inner silence\, you will learn to navigate and direct your inner dialogue\, cultivating greater discipline and deep inner strength. \nThis retreat focuses on inner stillness as the path to clarity and peace\, allowing you to rise above external demands and internal conflicts. Through the practices of non-attachment and introspection\, you can transcend the limitations of the mind\, revealing the unchanging essence within. As Ramana Maharshi said\, “Silence is ever speaking; it is the perennial flow of language\,” and Meister Eckhart echoes its deep value\, “Absolute stillness for as long as possible is best of all for you.” This retreat will guide you in exploring this silence\, fostering profound inner discipline and transformation. Join senior teacher Celia Roberts BSc as she gently guides you inward\, helping you connect with your own truth and the boundless peace that lies within.

SUMMARY:The Science and Art of Egoic Surrender
DESCRIPTION:Accept the purification power of life’s flow.” \n\nMichael Singer \nSurrender or letting go is vital in all spiritual disciplines\, religions and philosophies. When we learn to surrender to the moment in front of us\, we accept all just as it is in its complete perfection. Whatever previous thoughts or beliefs we have about an experience or situation\, we learn to completely let go. Ultimately\, we let go of old mental and bodily patterns and self-identification with form. True surrender in everyday life is initially challenging but finally possible within you in this lifetime\, and neurotheology research shows this practice leads to permanent change. When you must genuinely surrender due to a new level of insight\, it is critical to the enlightenment experience. This retreat will offer vital instructions for new-level insights and draw from practices outlined by yogic and Buddhist traditions to invite you into the states of Samādhi. We shall also explore the science of the brain and body in surrender\, peering through Maya\, the illusive reality\, whilst leaning into the experience of Samadhi.

SUMMARY:Altered Consciousness States
DESCRIPTION:This session will initially explore how we alter consciousness through different and natural means. We will also experientially touch upon the science of consciousness in meditation with reference to the work of cognitive neuroscientists Dr Anil Seth and Dr Donald Hoffman. Most importantly\, we will explore the field of consciousness that is beyond body\, mind\, birth\, life & death. This field of consciousness is what the great yogis and now scientists have explored throughout the ages\, namely radical ego dissolution. \nOn a personal level\, we will explore both resistance and acceptance within\, noticing how the mind dictates heavily what we do and don’t want. The deep spiritual teaching lies in the recognition that the World isn’t always going to give us what we want. Our minds are constructing a reality of what we think we want. Therefore it is wise that we remain open\, without expectation\, to the moment unfolding right in front of us. What is unfolding in front of us is the reality of where our consciousness meets the moment that just is. \n\n“You attract and manifest whatever corresponds to your inner state.” \n\nEckhart Tolle \nLet us explore the radiance behind all that is…

SUMMARY:Meditation on The NeuroEcoPyschology of the Subtle Body
DESCRIPTION:Harvard psychiatrist Dr. Joseph Loizzo promotes combining Eastern and Western psychological approaches to emphasise the growing recognition of the health benefits of meditation and yoga. He suggests that these ancient contemplative maps and practices are compatible with modern understandings of the nervous system. Dr. Loizzo explores the subtle body model from a Western neuroecopsychological perspective\, linking the mental\, physical\, and energetic aspects of the body. Central to this is the concept of the “subtle body” (suksma-sarira)\, a detailed framework that includes elements such as channels (nadi)\, energy centres (chakras)\, and vital energies (prana). Unlike the gross physical body\, the subtle body illustrates how mental and physical processes interact\, influencing overall well-being. Understanding the parallels between the Eastern subtle body and the central nervous system\, as described in Polyvagal Theory\, can deepen our comprehension of how meditation and yoga positively impact physical and psychological health while emphasising the science of self-realisation. \nPractices such as mindfulness\, kriyas\, breath control\, and energy regulation help balance emotional states\, enhance physical health\, and promote self-regulation by influencing the flow of prana and vital fluids. Regular engagement with these subtle body techniques can reshape both the physical and mental structures\, supporting a stable internal environment that fosters stress resilience and mental clarity. Join Senior teachers Celia Roberts and Sam Lindsay-German as they expand your awareness across various kuṇḍalinī yoga models from the Hindu\, Tibetan\, and Sikh Dharma lineages. This retreat will allow you\, as a practitioner\, to tailor your practice for both health and spiritual awakening\, bridging traditional wisdom with modern therapeutic applications.

SUMMARY:The Science and Practice of Mantra Meditation & Marma Point Sound Healing
DESCRIPTION:Discover the transformative power of Vedic meditation and delve into the Science and Practice of Mantra Meditation & Marma Point Sound Healing on December 6 with Celia Roberts (Ayurveda)\, Tumul Dubey (Sanskrit) & Anita Cassidy Bowman (Sound Healing). \nVedic meditation harnesses sound\, rhythm\, and music to unlock a myriad of health and wellness benefits. In this practice\, the mantra serves as a focal point\, guiding the mind to deep concentration while the sound resonates throughout the sacred areas of the body. Mantra meditation\, a concentration technique\, involves contemplation on a specific word or phrase. \nThe research on the use of mantra for mental well-being is extensive and continually expanding. Our minds operate on vibrational patterns rooted in sounds and words. Each word holds associations with emotions\, experiences\, feelings\, and thoughts\, grounded in deep memory. The inner voice\, governing the mind\, further adds meaning to words. Consequently\, the serene inner sound achieved through mantra meditation has the potential to bring stillness to the mind. Unlike the inner dialogue and distracting thoughts\, the repetition of mantras does not evoke emotional responses; instead\, it causes a unidirectional reduced activation of cortical networks leading to a basic state of rest (Berkovich-Ohana et al.\, 2015). \nMantra also allows us to connect the mind\, external and internal speech\, and ultimately achieve connection with the environmental and universal sound vibrations. Sound is the vehicle of Transcendence that we will explore for this meditation retreat. Here\, we shall use Mantra to facilitate the flow of prana through the marma points\, an important tool of marma therapy. Mantras protect marma points\, called “kavacha” in Sanskrit and so we use Mantra or sound to heal and protect certain vulnerable areas in the body. \nThis retreat will introduce you to Mantra Purusha\, a daily practice that can be used to implement Mantra and the ancient Sanskrit alphabet into the body’s sound vibration and to heal each marma point. \nThis Ayurvedic practice can be used to achieve many different goals\, such as greater self-awareness\, inner peace\, spiritual growth\, and enlightenment. \nThe benefits of this kind of mind and sound healing include: \n\nDecreased pain\nImproved heart health\nLessened symptoms of depression\nLower blood pressure\nReduced PTSD & Trauma\nDeeper and more restorative sleep\nReduced anxiety and stress\nStronger vagal tone and heart rate variability — key measures of your resilience to stress.\n\nDo join us for this very special end of year retreat.

SUMMARY:Breathwork – A Journey of Superconsciousness States
DESCRIPTION:Embark on a transformative journey into the profound realm of breathwork at the “Breathwork – A Journey into Superconsciousness States” retreat on October 4\, led by experienced breathwork facilitator Alisa Craig and Senior Meditation teacher Celia Roberts. This immersive experience delves into the transformative potential of conscious breathing\, supported by compelling evidence from recent scientific studies. Alisa and Celia\, seasoned practitioners in breathwork and meditation respectively\, guide participants through evidence-based practices designed to induce superconscious states traditionally described in yoga. This retreat provides practical tools for mental and spiritual elevation\, offering a unique opportunity to unlock the transformative power of breathwork. \nThe superconscious mind\, often referred to as the higher self or universal mind\, represents a profound level of consciousness transcending our ordinary awareness. In contrast to the conscious and subconscious minds focused on daily activities and memories\, the superconscious mind holds infinite wisdom\, creativity\, and spiritual insight. Accessing this realm requires a shift in perception and exploration beyond the limits of everyday consciousness\, providing an avenue for self-realisation and inner transformation. Cultivating a connection with the superconscious mind is a personal journey\, facilitated by practices like meditation\, visualisation\, and breathwork\, creating a receptive space for its wisdom to emerge. \nMeditation serves as a powerful tool for superconscious exploration\, with techniques like transcendental meditation and mindfulness guiding individuals toward higher states of consciousness. Visualisation\, another potent method\, taps into the power of intention and creative forces within the superconscious. Specific meditation techniques\, such as holotropic breathing and alternate nostril breathing\, enhance the connection to the superconscious by inducing altered states of consciousness. By consciously manipulating breath\, individuals open themselves to subtle realms\, promoting emotional healing and accessing the expansive wisdom within the superconscious mind. Join us on October 4 to explore these transformative techniques and embark on a journey into the superconscious through breathwork and meditation. \nA Journey into Superconsciousness States \n\nExplore the transformative potential of conscious breathing\, backed by evidence.\nGuide into superconscious states with breathwork and meditation practices.\nDive into the profound realm of superconscious mind exploration.\nAccess infinite wisdom\, creativity\, and spiritual insight within.\nUtilise meditation\, visualisation\, and breathwork for personal transformation.\nEmbark on a meditative journey into the superconscious

SUMMARY:Radical Healing from Illness\, Cancer & Other Diseases
DESCRIPTION:Embark on a transformative journey at our meditation retreat on August 23rd\, focused on “Radical Healing from Illness\, Cancer & Other Diseases.” Guided by the profound insights of Doctor Kelly Turner\, renowned for her groundbreaking research on spontaneous healing\, and inspired by the principles outlined in her book “Radical Hope\,” this retreat offers a unique exploration into the concept of exceptional healing and is for ANYONE and EVERYONE wanting to better their health and well-being. \nPerfect health and exceptional healing are yogic siddhis (supernatural powers) defined in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali in Chapter 3. These states of being are intricately interwoven with both tangible and intangible elements of existence. With dedication to the practice of yoga and the path of purification\, the mind-body becomes a vibrant tapestry shaped by our clear consciousness. \nDr. Turner’s research reveals that radical healing transformations\, especially in Stage 4 Cancer cases\, often follow ten distinct pathways\, with only two relating to the physical realm\, emphasising dietary choices and supplements. The remaining eight pathways delve into the mental\, emotional\, and spiritual dimensions. \nThese factors are: \n\nChanging Your Diet\nUsing Herbs and Supplements\nTaking Control of Your Health\nFollowing Your Intuition\nReleasing Suppressed Emotions\nIncreasing Positive Emotions\nEmbracing Social Support\nDeepening Your Spiritual Connection\nHaving Strong Reasons for Living\nRadically Changing Your Life\n\nThese factors emphasise the importance of addressing not only the physical aspects but also the mental\, emotional\, and spiritual dimensions in the pursuit of holistic well-being and healing. \nParticipants will not only gain insights from Dr. Turner’s research but will also experientially enjoy meditation practices designed to influence neurochemicals and neurohormones. Unlock the body’s inner pharmacy\, affecting cortisol\, melatonin\, serotonin\, dopamine\, GABA\, glutamate\, endocannabinoids\, norepinephrine\, epinephrine\, ACTH\, endorphins\, and oxytocin. Learn a complete meditation practice to utilise your inner pharmacy for hormonal health\, contributing to stunning physical and mental well-being. \nThis retreat invites you to explore holistic well-being consciously\, acknowledging that perfect health involves disentangling from imagined states of mind. It beckons us to relinquish the shackles of the past and break the habit of projecting into an uncertain future\, offering a transformative path toward radical healing and resilience.

SUMMARY:The Science and Art of Awakening Human Consciousness - No-Self & Permanent Change
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Andrew Newberg’s research on the spiritually awakened brain emphasises the concepts of no-self and permanent change. Permanent change refers to a transformation that can take place in an individual’s brain\, body\, and life\, leading to a profound shift in relationships\, sense of self\, and worldview. This transformation often brings about a new understanding of the self and the world\, which is usually for the betterment of humankind. \nThe changes in the brain resulting from spiritual awakening are characterised by long-lasting changes in the dopaminergic-serotonin system\, associated with happiness and well-being. Additionally\, increased baseline oxytocin levels are a marker of this change\, a hormone related to social bonding and empathy\, and the ultimate sense of interconnectedness. Dr. Newberg’s research highlights the concept of no-self\, where the self is a constantly changing process rather than a permanent\, fixed entity. The awakening of the spiritually awakened brain leads to a shift in this understanding of the self and a greater awareness of the interconnectedness of all things. \nIn conclusion\, the concept of no-self and permanent change in the spiritually awakened brain can lead to a more profound sense of purpose and connection to the world around us that is no longer limited by the egoic sense of form-identity. By exploring the world with freedom from self-identification and separateness\, we can experience our oneness in ultimate creation\, both scientifically and spiritually.

SUMMARY:The Science and Art of Awakening Human Consciousness - Session Liberation
DESCRIPTION:Liberation is a concept that has been explored by many different cultures and religions throughout history. In general\, liberation refers to the release or freedom from something that is limiting or confining. It can be a physical\, mental\, or spiritual release\, and it is often associated with the idea of enlightenment or transcendence. In the spiritual context\, liberation usually means the release from the cycle of birth\, death\, and rebirth\, which is known as samsara. This release is often achieved through spiritual practices such as meditation\, yoga\, or prayer. \nResearch conducted by Lisa Miller has identified five observable traits of the awakened brain that are common across different religious and spiritual traditions. These traits include altruism\, love of neighbour as self\, a sense of oneness\, the practice of sacred transcendence\, and adherence to a moral code. By consciously practising these traits\, individuals can strengthen and build the “muscle of transcendent awareness\,” leading to a more profound spiritual experience. Miller’s research suggests that spirituality and religiosity are innate and heritable\ntraits that can be nurtured through environmental factors across a person’s lifetime. Ultimately\, the concept of liberation involves transcending the limitations of the ego and connecting with the deeper spiritual essence that lies within each person. \nLet us liberate consciousness together in meditation. \nSource The Awakened Brain – Become One with the Rhythm of Life – The BioMedical Institute of Yoga & Meditation

SUMMARY:The Science and Art of Awakening Human Consciousness - Session Compassion
DESCRIPTION:Compassion is a state of being that goes beyond sympathy and understanding. It is about being the witness consciousness and recognising that behind every human suffering\, there is a being of light. By being aware of our suffering and questioning its necessity\, we can gain insights into the impermanence of all things and the removal of egoic self-identification. Suffering serves its purpose until we realise it is unnecessary. Compassion on the spiritual plane allows us to recognise that attachment to thoughts and emotions about the past and future is the root of suffering. Compassion is a state of complete non-judgmental awareness with no agenda\, and it can be transmitted through silence\, which is the most profound form of raising consciousness. \nCompassion is generously offered in the highest state of truth\, which is silence\, free of mind-based communication. It is a potent therapeutic relationship that raises consciousness. Compassion is a teaching that is silently conveyed through the example we set\, rather than through words. By being compassionate to someone who is suffering\, we are not getting down there with them but helping them through our example. Compassion is the most powerful tool for raising consciousness and connecting with others in a meditative right hemisphere to the right hemisphere way\, as supported by research and neuroscience.
