DESCRIPTION:Practicing Chair yoga is a great gift for a number of reasons.\n\nIt might be that you need support for the poses; you might have a knee or hip that’s not coping well with weight bearing; or you might not have the time or space to roll out your mat.\n\nUsing a chair\, poses can be gentle or strong\, and I’ll teach both.\n\nI will be giving detailed alignment instructions for the actions\, and introducing new actions each week.\n\n\n\nThere will be video recordings of the live sessions so if you can’t make a live session all is not lost.\n\n\n\nMy intention\, my hope is that over the ten sessions you will learn enough to be able to create your own practice.\n\n\n\nThere’s such ease in pulling out a chair and doing some stretches. Such support for building strength. Such a great opportunity to be drawn in to the quiet inside\, as the outer body moves.

SUMMARY:Restorative Yoga for Menopause
DESCRIPTION:Join Menopause Yoga founder Petra Coveney for a 6 hour CPD course on Restorative Yoga for Menopause designed for both qualified yoga teachers and practitioners. \nPetra believes that one the keys to navigating your menopause transition is to “Rest\, Do Less\, Reduce Stress” so that your body has the opportunity to adjust to the change in hormone balance. If you give yourself daily ‘mini-pauses’ to put your feet up\, recharge your battery and settle your nervous system\, then you may find it easier to get through your day\, manage your symptoms and gain the benefits of this ‘wintering’ menopause stage of life. Taking a leaf out of Nature\, by allowing yourself to rest\, you are more able to step into your Second Spring of post menopause feeling reenergised\, uplifted and empowered. \nPetra is based in the UK so her 6-hour CPD will be spread over two days with  two 3 hour sessions. \nThe live sessions include: \n\na slide presentation on menopause + restorative yoga.\ngroup discussion and Q&A\ngroup workshopping 4 specially selected restorative poses for menopause.\nteaching practice in pairs (Zoom break out rooms).\nQuiz\n\nThere will also be recorded content for you to watch after the live sessions\, and a pdf workbook for you to print out. \nOn completion of the live CPD course\, you will receive a certificate of attendance from Petra Coveney’s Menopause Yoga. \nThe aim of this CPD is to both provide: \na. restorative poses for you to practice at home for your own benefit. \nb. to support students in your own classes. \nPlease note: this CPD does not qualify you as a Menopause Yoga teacher\, which is a separate 40+ hour training course. DESCRIPTION:Join Petra Coveney – creator of Menopause Yoga & Wellbeing for her weekly Wednesday classes at 7pm in Australia and 8am (UK) in February 2024. These classes are aimed at boosting energy\, lifting a low mood and building strength. \nAll classes are open to beginners and modifications are offered for common conditions. \nPLEASE NOTE: THESE CLASSES ARE NEVER RECORDED TO PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY. \nPetra’s style of yoga is specially tailored to helping people going through perimenopause to post menopause manage common symptoms. \nIn February\, Petra is offering weekly classes at 8am-9.15am in the UK timezone which help women manage symptoms such as lethargy\, low mood (anhedonia) and the loss of muscle strength caused by declining oestrogen. Even if you are taking Hormone Rerplacement Therapy\, you still need to focus on your physical health including muscle and bone strength. \nThese classes start with a welcoming introduction\, and gentle movement to limber up and warm your muscles. This is followed by some dynamic movement to gently increase your heart rate\, longer held yoga poses for core\, legs and arm muscle strength. The practice ends with a restorative relaxation pose and a guided meditation or uplifting affirmation to help you start your day with a positive intention. \nWhat you need: \n1x yoga mat \n1x blanket for the relaxation pose. \n1x yoga strap\, band or belt. \nA yoga block/ brick or small cushion. \nOptional Extra props: \nHand weights and a Pilates band. \nWeighted eye bag for relaxation pose. \nPLEASE NOTE: THESE CLASSES ARE NEVER RECORDED TO PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY.
