SUMMARY:Cultivating Inner and Outer Peace - A Retreat for Activists and Changemakers
DESCRIPTION:Join mindfulness teachers and activists\, Lisa Brown\, Lody Levy and Suzie Brown\, for a 3-day mindfulness and nature retreat. \nAs activists and environmental change makers\, we are passionately committed to protecting the earth\, yet we must face up to the accelerating climate and ecological crises unfolding before us. \nMany complex and difficult emotions like fear\, anxiety\, grief and anger will naturally arise and this can lead to burn out\, an absence of joy and affect our health and relationships and ability to show up in the world. \nThis retreat will help you to learn new ways to prevent and manage burnout through mindfulness practices including silent reflection and meditation\, embodied movement\, immersing in nature and connecting with like-minded friends\, all in a beautiful rainforest setting. \nThese supportive skills and practices will help you to: \n\nDevelop better emotional resilience\nHave more energy and inspiration for our work\nReduce burnout\nFeel more supported and connected\n\nRobin Wall Kimmerer said “It is a radical act to reclaim your own attention and turn it to the natural world.” Reconnecting to nature is the portal to deep belonging\, which we all crave and reminds us of who we are and why we do this work \nOur venue will be the beautiful Springbrook Rainforest Retreat: https://tsretreat.org/ \nSCHOLARSHIPS \nIf you need financial support to be able to attend this retreat (ie you would not otherwise be able to afford to come)\, you are in luck! Due to the generosity of some philanthropic donors\, we are able to offer a limited number of scholarship places – we just ask that you apply by paying a $100 registration fee and then letting us know why you need the scholarship. You can find this option on the “Get Tickets” page. \nPRACTICAL INFORMATION \nThe retreat runs from Friday 1st November 5pm (dinner served at 6pm) until Monday 4th November 2pm (after lunch). \nThe retreat fee includes all meals and beverages plus accommodation in either a private room or camping – all with shared bathrooms. \nThe retreat fee does not include payment for the teachers. The teaching is provided by Lisa\, Lody & Suzie on a dana basis – the ancient Buddhist practice of dana – this means that we offer the teachings generously and ask for a monetary offering from you to the teachers according to your means. \nThe registration fee includes a $100 non-refundable deposit. If you need to cancel your booking\, you can do so up until 7 days before the retreat and we will issue you a refund minus the $100. \nARE YOU AN EXPERIENCED MEDITATOR? \nIf you have experience with silent retreats\, we invite you to stay on after this 3 day retreat for an additional 3 days where we will be doing silent sitting and walking meditation together and some sharing practices. If this additional 3 days of meditation is of interest to you please email us to apply: lisa@mindful-wellbeing.com \nTEACHERS \nLisa Brown blends Contemporary Psychology\, Yoga and the Buddharma in supporting people to connect with a path of embodied health and wellbeing.
