The program is divided into practical workshops and theory sessions which cover the key elements for developing the skills and knowledge to teach yoga safety and confidently. The session subjects include anatomy and physiology, sequencing, adjustments and corrections, use of props, women’s health and more. A key aspect of the course is the methodology for teaching asana, pranayama and meditation.
The first two terms of the Certificate IV course comprise the 200 hour Level 1 and the 300 hour Level 2. You then move onto the additional Certificate IV units (listed below) and Level 3. These terms include interesting and useful advanced workshops, covering advanced sequencing and assisting, philosophy, pranayama, meditation and applied anatomy, remedial yoga and Yin yoga.
Throughout the year you will also benefit from daily asana classes to deepen your practice and ongoing practical teaching experience under the supervision of senior Byron Yoga Centre teachers.
