History of Yoga- Vedas, Darsanas, How yoga was taught.
Yoga Tradition of Krishanmacharya
Definitions of yoga from Krishanamacharya, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Amara Kosa
History of Patanjali Yoga Sutra
In depth study of Chapters 1 and 2 of PYS and overview of Ch 3 and 4
Introduction to Vedic chanting and practice of chanting PYS.

Module 2. Theory and Practice of Asana

Definitions and Concepts of Asana
Breathing technique in asana
Static and dynamic
Classification of Asana
Techniques of common Asanas – Sanskrit name and meaning, Vinyasa Krama, Modifications, drawing stick figures.

Module 3. Theory and Practice of Asana

Course Planning – Vinyasa Krama, Rest , counterpose, Choosing a goal, Special Effects, sound and Chanting in Asana
More techniques of Asana

Module 4. Yogic Physiology and Anatomy and Pranayama

Concept of Cakras, Nadis, Vayus, Pancamaya, Gunas with references from Hatha Yoga Pradapika, PYS, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Rahasya, Yajnavalka.
Theory and Pracitce of Pranayama – Definitons, Techniques of Pranayama, Breath Ratios, Special Effects. Course Planning for Pranayama.
Techniques of Bandhas and Mudras

Module 5. Theory and Practice of Meditation

Definition of Meditation
Techniques and Effects of Meditation
Course Planning for Meditation
Mantra and Chanting for Meditation
Vedic Chants for health and general practices. 
Course Planning and Teaching for Asana, Pranayama and Meditation

Module 6. Teaching Methods and Practice

Case history taking
Communication and Demonstration.
Qualities of Teacher , Qualities of Student from the Vedas and Yoga Rahasya
Professional Ethics as traditional and Yoga Australia – prices, confidentiality, gifts etc
Group and individual class preparation and supervised teaching.
