Weekly online interactive theory sessions and 10 x 2-day weekends (including the retreat) over one year, commencing January 2023
Course Overview
Yogic Wisdom Teacher Training students will learn to practise and teach the different techniques and tools of Yoga in a balanced, safe and nurturing way. Students will be confident in modifying and adapting the techniques to meet individual needs. The course will offer a sound understanding of the history and philosophy of Hatha Yoga and the different lineages with particular emphasis on the teachings of Krishnamacharya. The Yogic Wisdom teacher training program has been written and approved at the worldwide standard of Yoga Australia.
Teaching Methodology
Trainees will learn:
- skills of observation, instruction and communication
- how to demonstrate the techniques and give modifications and variations for individual needs and various demographics
- class sequencing and practice planning
- business skills
- injury prevention
- different approaches to Yoga teaching offered by other lineages
- teaching one on one, as emphasised in the tradition of Krishnamacharya
- the ethical and personal qualities of a Yoga teacher
