Hello I’m Cass, I am the founder of Cocoon Sanctuary and Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher.
What's become my life’s passion and dedicated purpose is supporting women to access the abundant benefits that yoga has to offer throughout pregnancy, birth and motherhood.
I have a background in health promotion and community development, where I supported maternity and early years health services to meet the needs of Aboriginal women across Victoria. I loved this work and find the synergy of holistic support to women during pregnancy and motherhood flowing through to my role as a yoga teacher today.
A long time yoga student, with over twelve years of personal practice. I felt a calling come up, while breastfeeding my first baby, to learn more about yoga inspiring my shift to teaching. Yoga transformed my experiences of pregnancy. I felt the benefits of yoga strengthening my body and mind and creating awareness and self-compassion for the profound changes underway physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It also prepared me for the rigours of labour, birth and motherhood.
Through Cocoon Sanctuary I endeavour to support mums of today and tomorrow to experience for themselves how yoga supports you holistically throughout this transformational time.
A mother of two adorable, dynamic and spirited beings. Alfie is now five and Matilda two years old. Nature seeker and wellbeing enthusiast. I am humbled by the wisdom of yoga and feel deep gratitude for the way the practice ripples into life’s everyday moments, enhancing awareness whilst also creating space and balance that is essential for motherhood.
Graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences, majoring in Public Health. I began my formal Yoga Teacher Training in 2018 and achieved an Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching with the Australian Yoga Academy (350hrs). I went on to specialise in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teaching at Bliss Baby Yoga (65hrs).
