June first studied yoga with Ailsa Gartenstein in Brisbane. She undertook her initial yoga teacher training in Melbourne with Margrit Segesman of The Gita School of Yoga, and with Thea Mangiamele in Yoga and Creative Movement, becoming a Full Int. Yoga Teachers.Assn. Member in 1969. She worked with Roma Blair in Sydney, and obtained additional yoga teacher qualifications with Dr Jonn Mumford, of Samkhya Scientific Yoga Teaching Assn, Sydney, following which she undertook residential yoga teacher training in India at Ananda Ashram, Pondicherry, The Yoga Education Centre in Santa Cruz, The Govt. of India Goraksia College of Yoga and Cultural Synthesis, Lonavla, and The Bihar School of Yoga,Munger. June's experience teaching yoga led her to puruse her interest in yoga.in the context of health care, and to become a registered psychologist.
June taught Yoga as part of actors' training in the Performing Arts Dept, Uni, of Sth Queensland. She has taught yoga and meditation in public, private. and community health settings, and has delivered training and workshops for professional yoga teaching associations, as well as workshops and scientific papers for The Australian Society of Hypnosis, The Australian Pain Society, and other health care organisations .
Her particular interests include application of evidence based attentional control training (meditation), iRest, traditional, and secular Yoga Nidra as Emotional and Cognitive Empowerment Training, Swara Yoga in the psychobiology of healing, .as well as imaginative involvement, in the context of heatlh care. June is a Member of the Aust. Assn of Yoga Therapists and The Int. Assn. of Yoga Therapists.
2000-04 Director Yoga Queensland Pty Ltd, Registered Training Organisation, and lecturer in The Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching, and The Diploma of Health (Yoga) courses, delivered under license by this RTO.
2005-6 Member of the Advisory Team, Research Higher Degree Candidature (PhD & MPhil) School of Medicine, Central Clinical Division, Division of Psychiatry, The University of Queensland, St Lucia, Brisbane, for doctoral dissertation involving yoga intervention
