Erika is the founder of Change with Yoga, is a certified yoga therapist, trauma center trauma sensitive yoga facilitator (TCTSY-F), laughter yoga facilitator, and yoga educator.
"I was first drawn to yoga when I was a teenager and travelled to India with a dear friend of mine and her family. We stayed in an ashram for about a month and although I didn’t practice physical yoga, I did learn about yogic philosophy and it really resonated with me.
For me, it was a way to challenge my outlook on life but not only that, it changed my relationship to myself and the way I engaged in the world. I dabbled in the physical practice of yoga after that, but it wasn’t until I was living in Brighton, England that I immersed myself in a consistent practice.
I would regularly visit the local Buddhist centre to practice and it was here that I was inspired to become a teacher myself. I then journeyed back to Australia and relocated to Melbourne where I went on to study my advanced diploma of yoga teacher training.
I then went on to study yogic philosophy and yin yoga, then completed my graduate certificate in yoga therapy and became certified in trauma center trauma sensitive yoga.
My enthusiasm to learn more about yoga seems to be forever evolving and although this is my area of work now it’s very much, and more so, about the way I live my life."
Erika is a registered senior yoga teacher and certified yoga therapist with Yoga Australia and is a certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapy. Erika is also certified through the Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute to facilitate Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga sessions (TCTSY-F).
Erika is now based in Meanjin (Brisbane) but still continues to offer online services to folks in Naam (Melbourne) and afar.
Erika offers regular online yin yoga and TCTSY courses, as well as seeing private clients for TCTSY or Yoga Therapy. NDIS and VOCA clients are welcome.
