Back

I first attended the Gita School of Yoga in the mid 1980s on the recommendation of a work colleague, Edward Nichols, who was (and is) a superb example of yoga in action in daily life.  I undertook Teacher Training in the mid 1990s.  I taught for about 12 years or so in a variety of settings including general and pre/post natal classes at the Harold Holt Swim Centre in Glen Iris, voluntary teaching at Wellington House in Box Hill - a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility and whilst working for the Victorian Public Service I introduced yoga to the wider State government and agencies, having people attend weekly classes at Treasury Place in Melbourne.

After further training in Teaching Progressive Yoga Relaxation, I taught at the Gita School for several years.  I was also involved in the Executive Co-ordination of the 2006/2007 Gita Teacher Training Course which proved a wonderful opportunity for mentoring and developing complementary training days for teacher trainees.

Over the last 10 years or so I have not had the opportunity to teach due to family responsibilities and recovering from hip surgeries.

As I am now mostly retired from my administrative career,  I have decided now is the time  to offer my teaching skills on a voluntary basis.
