Yoga has long been a part of my journey, keeping me strong since a back injury in my early 20’s. I have maintained a regular practice ever since, affording me over 2 decades of personal practice. Over this time, I have experienced the subtle shifts of the postures, breathing practices, relaxation, and meditation, on my way of 'being’ in every-day life. This inspires me to bring these powerful teachings to others.
My yoga training started in 2008 with a 200hr Ashtanga Teacher Training, giving me a sound understanding of the history of yoga and the 8 limbs. Later that year I went to India for a 200hr Pranayama Teacher Training. This expanded my experiential knowledge of yoga practices, and the profound effect food, cleansing, breath and meditation can have on the body and its systems. I recently completed my studies in Yoga Therapy, the course was guided by the work of Leigh Blashki and has expanded my skills to allow the application of specific practices to suit the individual.
I continue to find inspiration from teachers such as Eve Grzybowski, Donna Farhi, Celia Roberts, Alex Nehter and spiritual guides such as Pema Chodron and Ram Dass.
Over the last 10 years I have specialised in teaching Pre and Postnatal Yoga, and teach the Hypnobirthing Australia course, and childbirth education workshops. I see huge value in supporting women through this transitional period of life and continue to be inspired from the positive feedback I receive from my students.
I enjoy seeing my clients, people with a range of physical, emotional, and mental health concerns, benefit from a regular yoga practice. It is not one aspect of the body, mind, spirit, which needs balancing, but all the systems together.
When you're ready to begin, we'll start the journey of connection with your breath.
