I am Anu, founder of Shvaas Yoga – https://www.shvaas.com.au/about
I began practicing yoga in 2012. My practice has been dedicated in Hatha, Vinyasa and Iyengar styles of yoga.
To further deepen my practice and understanding, I completed 3 years yoga teacher training, followed by Asana Biomechanics 84 postures and Advanced Vinyasa Sequencing training . I am now a registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Australia, which is recognised as the peak body for Yoga in Australia.
As a teenager, I competed in track and field sports, which instilled discipline and a committed fitness regime. As a young adult, I started to understand my passion and respect for good health and wellbeing. This led me to inquire a holistic and sustainable approach which guided me towards Yoga!
I started my practice with a focus on building a strong foundation in my asanas. But yoga took me beyond physical benefits and embracing my body. It helped quieten my mind, accept and tolerate myself, and be open to possibilities.
I am curious and exploratory in my approach to my personal practice.
This informs my teaching style which range from Vinyasa flow to Yin. I focus on helping people progress and deepen their practice, built on foundations of strong technique and yogic philosophy.
My practice in the different styles of yoga means I can tailor the class to be dynamic, suit individual needs (beginner or advanced), create a safe but challenging experience, and support through injuries.
