Founder and Principal Teacher at Womb In Bloom and Bloom Yoga & Wellbeing
Fiona has led over a thousand women through their pregnancies over the past twenty years, preparing them for birth using the tools of yoga including asana (poses), pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation and guided relaxation. She employs Mindfulness-based practices and philosophy to help prepare new mamas for the demands of childbirth and motherhood.
She is passionate about helping women reach their full birthing potential. “I believe women already know intuitively how to birth and nurture a baby. In many ways we need to unlearn and simply trust in our instincts. Yoga artfully leads us back to this sacred knowledge and reunites us with the body’s innate wisdom and power. This is, indeed, the true meaning of Yoga.”.
Fiona draws inspiration for her classes from various yoga traditions including Iyengar Yoga, Viniyoga and Classical Hatha Yoga. She is inspired by the timeless wisdom of the Eastern Contemplative Traditions. Her spiritual mentors include Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Pema Chodron, Stephen Cope and Jon Kabat-Zinn.
Fiona is grateful to have studied with Ani Pema (Karen Schaefer), Mark Breadner, Sally Flynn, A.G. Mohan, T.K.V.
