Bio

Joanna Mills is a Canberra-based yoga instructor with over two decades of dedicated practice. She completed her formal Vinyasa-style yoga teacher training with Yoga Trinity in 2018, and offers a calm and interactive approach to yoga focused on improving posture and stability through breath and movement.

As a Medical Doctor, Joanna brings a highly evidence-informed perspective to her yoga instruction. She uses her comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and psychology to create a safe, supportive environment for practitioners of all levels. Her methodology is guided by three core principles – think, move, and feel – which encourage students to practice with intention, reflect, and cultivate self-awareness.

Joanna’s professional mission is to bridge the gap between scientific research and traditional practices of yoga. Having both experienced and studied the impacts of stress and burnout in healthcare systems, she recognises that proactive self-care is vital for a sustainable personal and professional life. Her classes are designed to foster well-being, providing a structured and compassionate space for students to pause, recalibrate, and support their physical and mental health.
