Kate has been practicing yoga since the late 1980’s. She travelled extensively in India and really became inspired to intensify her study and practice of yoga. She trained at the Clifton Hill yoga school with many of its teachers (Frank Jesse, Peter Harley, Heather Kitchen), whilst studying and eventually covering classes for Ri Fraser in Eltham. Kate set up her own classes in Strathewen and Arthurs Creek and then moved to Brisbane where she trained with Peter Scott and Sue Everett. Kate set up the West End Yoga studio and the Yoga Den (Annerley and West End) and trained many students when she began her own Yoga Australia teacher training courses in 2005.
Kate has been deeply immersed in Insight meditation practices since 1994; sitting and serving on many 10 day courses. She has studied Shivaism, Bhuddism (Tamara Ditrich), Ayurveda, Chi Gung and more contemporary practices of understanding and embodying the intelligence that flows through the body and heart-mind.
To be present, awake, aware requires the busy-mind to be focussed to the here and now.
Kate’s teaching’s are steeped in the basic foundations of Mother Nature and loving kindness.
