Chapter 1: The Humble Beginnings – In India

In the heart of a bustling city in India, amidst the chaos and cacophony, I found incredible solace in the simplest of things, a yoga class. Realising the practice gave me an escape and an incredible peace of mind, I added yoga to life’s tool kit.  Yoga…. something I could use to escape, something that makes me feel great!

Chapter 2: The Practical Application – back home

I embarked on the challenge to incorporate yoga into my life…. My very busy life.  I found ways to fit it into my lunch breaks, attended classes after work, started finding moments on the bus to meditate.  I practiced yoga for at least 10 years in this hap-hazard form trying different lineages, dipping my toes into new schools of thought.

Chapter 3: The Path of expanding my knowledge

I wanted to learn more and enrolled in a yoga teacher training course.  I completed 500 hours of yoga teacher training under Wendy Samek, Sr. Iyengar yoga teacher from Om yoga.  I extensively studied anatomy, principles of alignment and yoga philosophy.  I did this while creating two new humans, which also gave me a unique perspective and appreciation for pre-natal/post natal yoga for women.

Chapter 4: A teacher was born

So, here I am…. A teacher who is a regular person like you.

I have a day job working at a university in the Talent Development space.  Outside of that I love to share yoga with my community.  I teach yoga… for purpose.  Meaning, I do it out of the passion of sharing for the benefit of the people taking the class and the community around them.  I donate some of the profits to charity.

In my classes I teach yoga is not just about bending and stretching; it’s about finding balance, clarity, and peace in the practicality of everyday existence.  I love to share yoga with others, especially those like me, who are looking to better coexist with the demands life throws at us, the demands work throws at us.  My classes are perfect for people who need to find some peace amidst the chaos and cacophony, like I have.
