Megan teaches weekly Mindful Yoga classes here

Megan has been teaching yoga continuously since 2010 and experiences yoga as a doorway to meditation and healing as well as a powerful way to care for the body. She trained in traditional hatha yoga, practiced Ashtanga for about 10 years, and began teaching mainly flow or vinyasa style yoga. Then she began combining the latest therapeutic and scientific insights into body-mind healing from the mental health field with mindfulness and meditation, stretch therapy and traditional yoga. She now teaches a style of yoga which is deeply restorative, accessible to most people, suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners and  trauma sensitive. Megan has worked in mental health and therapy for more than 25 years with people from all walks of life, from CEO’s to children. She spent 15 of those years in a torture trauma rehabilitation setting. She has extensive experience with trauma treatment and 6 years experience in research. She is also a brain science enthusiast and is continuously deepening her understanding both of mindfulness, yoga and of mental health approaches. She loves bringing them together and is passionate about helping people to grow, learn and thrive and adapt both mindfulness and mental health approaches to meet their unique needs. She also knows well the challenges of being human and has personally experienced time and again, the freedom, healing and joy that can come from a range of mindfulness , yoga and meditation practices. She sees practice of ‘deep warm friendship to yourself’ (Bob Sharples)
