Penny Cuthbert is the owner of Hatha Yoga Desha and has over thirty years of teaching experience, twenty-one of which have been in Shadow Yoga. Penny is a Shadow Yoga teacher trainer and Senior teacher with Yoga Australia.

In 2003 Penny opened HYD, Sydney’s first yoga studio dedicated to Shadow Yoga. Introduced to yoga by her father (a devotee of Baba Muktananda), she attended regular Iyengar yoga classes from 1989. Her studies with Sundernath (Shandor Remete), co-founder of Shadow Yoga started in 1993. Penny continues to train under the guidance of Sundernath and Emma Balnaves.
