Sakshi’s school, Yoga Satya, is based in a small cottage in a delightful garden in Victoria Point, Redlands, Qld.

Most classes are also available online.

Sakshi is a dedicated yoga sannyasi with over thirty years experience.  Her emphasis is to keep yoga authentic, to embrace the ancient traditions and to place an emphasis on a meditative mind.

Yoga Satya offers small 90 minute classes, with occasional workshops and day retreats.  There’s an emphasis on the more subtle aspects of yoga:  pranayama, mudra, yoga nidra, meditation. There are classes suitable for all: older women, advanced students and private options.

We have a delightful small kirtan group.

Classes:

  • Monday 7 pm – general
  • Tuesday 9.30 am – general
  • Wednesday 10 am – very gentle.  Currently all the students in the class are aged over 70 years.
  • Wednesday 6.30 pm – general
  • Saturday 10.30 am – advanced.  Previous attendance of classes required unless there is good knowledge of authentic yoga philosophy and practice.

I’ve attended classes with Sakshi for more than 20 years (commencing in 1997), and attended regularly until moving to the Sunshine Coast six years ago. Even since the move, I travel to Victoria Point for workshops whenever I can, and now (in the time of isolation) I can once attend class via Zoom, which I am loving !…Sakshi’s classes have been, and continue to be, the most amazing blend of asana and meditation and teaching, which is why I am happy to drive over two hours to attend her workshops.    Helen Rand

I have now been a regular student of Sakshi for 10 years, attending weekly classes, half-day, full-day and weekend retreats, as well as Kirtan.  Sakshi is the best yoga teacher I have ever had. After practicing yoga under numerous other teachers, I felt I had struck gold when I started studying yoga under Sakshi in 2013. Her teachings are gentle and wise. She is accepting and inclusive and creates a safe space to learn yoga (and meditation…as a core focus of the practice). Sakshi lives by example and I can’t recommend her enough, for beginners and also for those wishing to delve deeper into yoga.
