Biography
| Bio | Welcome to my page. My name is Stephanie, and I am a Level 2 Yoga Australia teacher with more than 13 years’ teaching experience and 30 years of personal practice. I completed a Diploma of Yoga Teaching at Nature Care College in Sydney in 2012 and have since taught in Perth and interstate. My practice has been shaped by Iyengar, Yoga Synergy and Hatha traditions, and has ultimately led me back to a gentle Hatha focus. In my classes, I emphasise breath, body and stillness awareness, incorporating mindfulness and accessible movement. Wherever possible, I tailor yoga to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit the practice, offering one‑to‑one sessions and pose options within smaller group classes. My training at Nature Care College was completed part‑time over approximately three years with a range of senior Syndey teachers. The curriculum covered multiple facets of yoga, including an introduction to yoga therapy and pranayama, yoga history and philosophy, asana practice, and anatomy and physiology from both Western and Eastern perspectives. I am now based in Perth and am working towards Senior Teacher status with Yoga Australia. I teach gentle Hatha yoga for adults of most ages at several venues south of the river, including a 7:00am Wednesday class at Victoria Park Community Centre, and evening classes on Tuesdays (4:30pm) and Thursdays (5:30pm) in South Perth on behalf of Arthritis and Osteoporosis WA. These classes support people living with arthritis and osteoporosis, as well as those who wish to take a proactive approach to prevention. They are designed to be supportive, low‑impact and mindful, with a focus on joint health, balance and confidence. In addition to my yoga training, I hold an MBA from the University of Western Australia and previously worked in senior marketing and operations roles, including at IBM. This background gives me a particular insight into the pressures of corporate life and a strong interest in supporting employee wellbeing and students at different stages of life and career. I am also an experienced meditator and maintain a regular Transcendental Meditation (TM) practice at home.
