Sue began yoga for her own personal self some 30 years ago and is the real deal when it comes to yoga for our modern times.
Sue’s formal training in yoga was with Donna Farhi in NZ many years ago and soon after Sue undertook yoga therapy studies through Yoga Therapy Institute in Australia under the mentorships of Sal Flynn, Louise Godfrey and Annette Louden. Sue also undertook informal meditation training with a local mentor and Dr Ian Gawler in Victoria. Other formal studies that inform Sue’s work have been in the field of somatic therapy, trauma awareness certification, BASI pilates, exercise for sports, other movement modalities and massage. Some time has been spent in Nepal experiencing yoga and Ayurvedic treatments and most recently in 2023 Sue has spent time in the most spiritual country of Bhutan.
Ultimately Sue’s work as a Yoga Therapist is sprinkled with her own flavouring born out of her own personal life experiences which include the loss of her husband from a three year cancer illness in 2009 and utilising advanced meditation techniques to support herself and her husband for him to have a peaceful death. There are also a plethora of other experiences from being human that Sue is able to bring to the table as a Yoga Therapist. Most importantly, each person is a living breathing unique human being whom Sue respects deeply.
