Biography
| Bio | Suzanne offers yoga classes in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales. Suzanne Cohen began her yoga journey in 1999 and completed her Hatha Yoga Teacher Training under Penny Cuthbert. Her practice has been further enriched by Sanskrit studies with Dr. Stephanie Majcher and Anatomy and Physiology training with Simon Borg-Olivier. Suzanne’s teaching philosophy emphasizes commitment, patience, and diligence, encouraging students to honor both their strengths and limitations. Classes are tailored to your experience level, following a gradual learning sequence that promotes steady growth. As a TC-TSY (Trauma-Conscious Therapeutic Yoga) instructor, Suzanne creates a supportive environment that complements traditional cognitive therapies. Her trauma-informed approach fosters a non-coercive space, allowing students to connect with their body’s inherent healing abilities. What can you expect from a trauma-informed yoga course or private session? This program works in harmony with your clinical therapy, gently guiding you to reconnect with your body in a nurturing environment. The practice helps build strength and comfort, allowing you to calm your mind, become more aware of your body’s present sensations, and learn to regulate physical responses to stress. You’ll gain insight into your body’s alarm systems and develop the tools to foster positive emotions and body awareness. By creating space for yourself in each session, you will move from merely existing in your body to truly inhabiting it—no longer just an outline, but a fully realized presence. Group classes are limited to 4 participants and run for 60 minutes. Individual sessions are also available, tailored to your needs. |
