| Bio |
Tania’s journey of curiosity, awareness and discovery began over a decade ago after the birth of her third child. Habituated to prioritising the needs of others over her own self, this led to her suppressing her identity, and effected her physical and mental health. Without understanding where it would lead, she knew that different action would be her catalyst, so swallowing crippling self-consciousness and anxiety-producing body shame, she started her learning journey by exploring yoga practices.
In the years since, Tania has studied and researched many modalities within the health, wellbeing and personal development fields, expanding her practice with formal and informal training, lived experience, industry knowledge, and the opening of her own business, Tania Alexander Yoga, in late 2021. To date, she has accrued over 1600 hours of teaching experience.
Tania is a passionate consumer of knowledge. She usually has her nose in a book, or a summit or podcast playing through her headphones. She has a deep interest in psychology, neurology, neurodivergence, nutrition, mental health management, circadian rhythms, human development, personal development and breathwork practices. She is classically trained in piano and often seeks opportunities to immerse herself in nature and in water.
With an easy-going and playful approach to life, Tania finds great joy in community and has given her knowledge, skills and time to assisted aged care facilities, early childhood education centres, primary & secondary schools, local businesses, and sporting and community groups based in the inner-east and south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Tania teaches do-able yoga practices to curious people who want to breathe • move • soothe their way to feeling better. She is a laid-back, yet passionate teacher with a ready smile and welcoming arms (if hugs are your thing!)

TESTIMONIALS
Tania’s yoga classes are amazing. As a person living with chronic pain/disability, trauma and anxiety, they are a balm to the body, mind and spirit. I was wanting to return to yoga practice after a long absence, but wasn’t sure where or how to do that. I found Tania’s classes and have not looked back. The classes are inclusive, welcoming, supportive and yet challenging. Tania is a lovely teacher and person – so compassionate and empathetic; also down to earth with a great sense of humour! I always leave her classes feeling good and inspired! The Sunday workshops are also a wonderful deeper dive into the history and theory which is great for a nerd like me. 😀 ❤️

I find Tania’s yoga classes are a great way to start the day feeling refreshed. Tania’s classes are relaxed and comfortable. She has an eye for detail which is extremely helpful, making it easy to follow correct yoga postures, meditation and yogic breathing. Her classes have helped me regain my strength, flexibility, balance and overall fitness. I strongly recommend her classes to improve your fitness at whatever age you are.

Tania is a fantastic yoga teacher. Her classes are always a joy to attend. I love how (the) class is different each week. You can tell that Tania loves doing what she does. There is plenty of support and encouragement that she gives her clients and the small class sizes are just perfect. I highly recommend if you are a beginner or more experienced. Tania is such a genuine and approachable person (and) this is reflected in her classes.

Tania is excellent. Very understanding, inclusive and patient. She tailors yoga activities specifically to participants, and is calmly encouraging of all who attend. Many thanks to her.

Tania’s yoga session was great! We asked if she (could) come to our dental clinic for a 30 minute session with the staff. She was very professional and calming. Tania was able to guide us through all of the movements and explained the reason behind every single one. No previous yoga experience was required and she was able to tailor the session according to each individual’s needs and capabilities. We loved the session! Thank you, Tania.

We asked Tania to visit our Year Four classes to demonstrate and teach Yoga and Mindfulness as an extension to our Respectful Relationships program. The students were fully engaged during their yoga exercises and breathing activities. They felt calm and happy afterwards.
