Biography
| Bio | I have suffered chronic back pain since I was 14 years old, resulting in spinal surgery at age 17. A former violinist, distance runner and talent agent, I pushed myself incredibly hard throughout life – finding yoga was a revelation and remains an ongoing lesson in opening to the full spectrum of life as it is, and welcoming the presence of grace into our experience. A dedicated teacher, I love sharing the knowledge I have acquired to help my students feel calmer, more grounded and connected – both with themselves and with their lives. My teaching style is supportive, playful and inclusive, allowing students to explore their own unique experience of their practice. By cultivating an awareness of breath – coupled with healthy alignment and intelligent sequencing – I guide students to turn inwards, let go of self-judgment and create space to feel, explore and connect with the true essence of their being. With over 500hrs of formal yoga training, I completed most of my yoga studies in London with teachers Anna Ashby, Jean Hall, Bridget Woods Kramer and Doug Keller and in Australia with Cassandra Missio and Mitch Gibson. Since 2015 I have been mentored by the respected American yoga teacher and author, Richard Rosen and have studied with him in the US and London. More recently, after completing a 7-month teacher training with Donna Farhi, whose teaching I deeply respect, I am experiencing a shift in both my personal practice and teaching style to embrace inquiry-based learning. I feel that taking refuge in conscious breathing and intentional rest is fundamental for a calm and happy life.
