10 Weeks of Yoga Philosophy Themed Classes

At Tania Alexander Yoga there are only 10 weeks of yoga left for this year!

And… there just happens to be five each of the Yamas and Niyamas, the moral and ethical observances, disciplines and duties of a yogi. So, each week I will be introducing a different topic to theme our classes around with the intention that you gain greater curiosity, awareness and insight into your own way of being in the world.  It is from this place that we each have the capacity to learn, grow, and heal, and become our authentic selves. This October we will start with the five Yamas:
  • Ahimsa – non-harm
  • Satya – truth
  • Asteya – non-stealing
  • Brahmacarya – self control
  • Aparigraha – non-grasping
In November/December we will visit the five Niyamas:
  • Sauca – cleanliness
  • Santosha – contentment
  • Tapas – discipline
  • Svadhyaya – self-study
  • Isvara Pranidhana – surrender (to Source)
These 10 weeks will take us all the way to the final Hatha75 class of the year on Saturday 13th December, after which you are very welcome to stay and celebrate with our TAYoga Break Up Picnic!

Beginner yogis will be warmly welcomed!

There’s no need to commit to all 10 weeks and you won’t be locked into any subscriptions. Come as a casual drop-in, or try a Class Pass and book the days that suit you. Mats and props are available to borrow at the studio, should you desire. Free parking is available at both Amrita Yoga and Oakleigh Hall.

ABOUT TANIA:

Tania Alexander is a bubbly, easy-going yoga teacher based in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. With over a decade of practice and 1300+ hours of teaching experience, Tania interweaves music, mindfulness, breath control and movement into all her sessions. Her students attest to the physical and psychological health benefits they have gained through Tania’s approach to yoga. By blending relatable Aussie language and mannerisms with traditional yogic wisdom, and with a passion for mental health management and a neuro-affirming approach, Tania empowers her students to breathe • move • soothe their way to feeling better.

Tania teaches accessible in-person group classes and workshops for all abilities. There’s no touching, no chanting, no headstands.
