Restorative Yoga Immersion

November 7 – November 8 AEDT

Restorative Yoga Immersion

7–8 November 2026 · Bellingen, NSW

Learn to share the art of rest, while giving yourself space to experience it.

Join Bliss Baby Yoga Owner and Lead Teacher Nadine O’Mara for two days of in-person Restorative Yoga Immersion in beautiful Bellingen. Through guided practice, demonstrations, discussion and teaching with fellow trainees, you’ll learn how to create supported restorative practices that respond to your needs. This immersion brings the foundations of our Level 1 Restorative Yoga Teacher Training into the room. You’ll have time to feel the effects of each posture in your own body, explore different prop arrangements and grow more confident guiding your own practice into rest. There are no pre-requisites for this training other than a passion to learn and experience Restorative Yoga.

A feminine approach to the art of rest

This perspective sits at the heart of our Bliss Baby Yoga Restorative Yoga trainings and practice. Our work has long centred on yoga for women — understanding how our needs shift through monthly cycles, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and menopause, and helping teachers respond with knowledge, sensitivity and care. Restorative yoga offers a practical way to bring that understanding into our teaching. With thoughtful support and comfortable prop arrangements, we create space for students to soften, breathe and notice what they need. Women’s wellbeing is woven into this approach from the beginning. We consider energy, comfort and individual circumstances alongside the posture itself.

Gather wisdom while on retreat

Our training space is tucked among the trees in Fernmount, just eight minutes from Bellingen. Between sessions, there’s room to sit outside amongst the bird song, share a nourishing lunch or take a dip in the spa and saltwater pool. It’s a setting that invites you to slow down as you learn. You’ll practise restorative sequences as a student, then explore how to offer that same sense of comfort and support to someone else. There will be space for questions, individual guidance and the conversations that come naturally when we learn together.

What you’ll learn

Over the two days, we’ll explore:
  • The principles, benefits and applications of Restorative Yoga
  • How to use bolsters, blankets, blocks, straps and chairs to support different bodies
  • The six restorative posture groups, including variations and considerations for individual students
  • How to guide students into and out of postures with clear, gentle instructions
  • Restorative sequences for deep rest and times of exhaustion
  • Therapeutic restorative sequences for digestion, menstruation and menopause
  • Breath practices and different ways to set up Savasana
  • How to weave restorative postures into a general yoga class
  • Sequencing for a student’s particular needs
You’ll also practise teaching with other trainees and work through a case study, bringing the learning into a situation you may encounter in your own classes. If you are attending the weekend for yourself and not to teach, you will not be required to teach your sequence but will learn by putting together a sequence for your own home practice. The programme follows the structure of the supplied two-day training timetable, with a balance of practice, theory, demonstration and teaching time.

A look at the two days

Saturday 7 November 8am – 5pm:  foundations and practice We’ll begin with an opening circle and an introduction to Restorative Yoga, followed by a guided sequence you can experience for yourself. Throughout the day, we’ll explore the benefits of the practice, demonstrate posture groups and prop variations, and spend time with breath practices, savasana and introductory teaching practice. Sunday 8 November 8am – 5pm: deepening and teaching We’ll start with a second restorative sequence, then return to the postures with fresh questions and observations. You’ll explore further variations, practise teaching in pairs or small groups*, prepare a student case study and share what you’ve learnt before our closing circle. This is a guide to the flow of the weekend; the final daily timetable will be shared before the training.
