Ayurveda and Yoga Retreat on Tambourine Mountain

We came together through a mutual friend and before we knew it, we were planning this retreat as it is something that we had both wanted to do, to make the most of this beautiful place we call home, knowing that it holds healing energy, together with our knowledge and experience of Ayurveda and Yoga.
While many of you will know what to expect from Yoga Asana practice, you may be new to Ayurveda.

As Yoga and Ayurveda become better known, more interest is developing in their specific healing modalities as well. A new Yoga and Ayurveda therapy is arising, integrating their renewed mutual application using yogic tools like asana according to Ayurvedic guidelines as well as applying Ayurvedic therapies to aid in yogic healing.” – David Frawley
This retreat has been curated to allow the space for you to nurture and nourish your mind, body and spirit with wisdom rooted in Ayurveda and Yoga. Not only will we be of service to you throughout the day taking you through different aspects of attending to your health thus immunity and vitality, but we also hope to inspire you to carry the knowledge and practices away with you and guide you through in implementing them at home!
Program for the day:
- Welcome to your retreat, setting intentions, getting to know other like-minded people
- Morning Hatha Yoga session to ease you out of the busyness of everyday life and into restfulness – movement, Pranayama (Yogic breathing) & Mantra meditation – to allow you to best integrate what the day has to offer
- Ayurvedic wisdom session on how to optimise immunity & vitality followed by Q&A, bring your questions to make it a lively and interactive session!
- Delicious Ayurvedic lunch to delight your senses, warm and nourish along with guidance on what, when and how to eat – the Ayurvedic way
- Convene with the luscious surrounds of Tamborine National Park along with Mindfulness Meditation and Yogic Breathing – supercharged forest bathing!
- Ayurvedic head massage demonstration and practice followed by afternoon tea – watch a demonstration and practice with a partner, then we reward ourselves with delicious morsels of Ayurvedic goodness and Chai (non-caffeinated)
- Restorative Yoga and meditation session to integrate the experiences of the day followed by Vedic sound therapy to create a harmonising influence through the eternal music of Nature
- Take home practices and gifts to inspire you to continue your journey of wellbeing!
What to bring:
- yoga mat, blanket and cushion to sit on
- we encourage you to bring your own plate and cup to minimise waste, however we will have them available for you in case you need them
- warm clothes to layer with as we venture outdoors as it can get a bit chilly during the winter months here on the mountain
- sturdy shoes to walk in, socks to wear while resting
- a water bottle to fill up throughout the day as needed
- pen and paper to take notes
