The Core Connection

This workshop offers an integrated exploration of the core as both a physical and energetic centre. We will begin with an overview of the core muscle groups and their essential role in supporting health, stability, and wellbeing. From a yogic perspective, we’ll explore how intra-abdominal pressure contributes to stabilising both body and mind. Through a practical session, participants will experience therapeutic Japanese Yoga exercises designed to gently warm, activate, and connect with the core (a PDF handout of exercises is included). We’ll conclude by exploring how this understanding can be applied and integrated into personal practice or teaching, with time for questions and feedback.

Inclusions:

  • The Core from Yogic perspective: The creation of intra-abdominal pressure for stabilising the body and mind

  • Practical exploration: Specific therapeutic Japanese Yoga exercises to warm up and connect with the core (pdf handout of exercises included)

  • Application and integration: How might we incorporate a deeper understanding of the core and use these exercises in our own practice or when working with students?
