Paula Carey has been teaching yoga on Australia’s Gold Coast since 2000, completing her initial 350-hour Diploma of Yoga Teaching with the International Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA) and joining the IYTA in 1998.
She has been a dedicated student of A. G. Mohan and Indra Mohan since 2013. A. G. Mohan spent nearly two decades as a personal student of the legendary yogi Sri T. Krishnamacharya and Indra Mohan is one of few people to receive a post-graduate diploma in yoga from Sri Krishnamacharya.
Paula has completed the 200-hour Svastha Yoga of Krishnamacharya Teacher Training with the Mohan family; 140-hours Yogic Mindfulness program; various courses on Prāṇāyāma, the Yogasūtra and Sāṁkhya directly with Mohanji and Indraji, and completing the 300-hour Yoga Therapy program with their son, Dr. Ganesh Mohan.
Paula is a Senior Registered teacher with Yoga Australia and teaches classes and individualised yoga at her studio on the Gold Coast, as well as offering Yogasūtra study and Sanskrit recitation of the sūtra-s.
Paula is passionate about yoga as a means to reduce duḥkha/suffering – the traditional pathway of the Yogasūtra. As a holistic practice pathway, Yoga is ideally placed to play an effective role in physical, mental, emotional, social and relationship health.
Yoga is something each person can do for themselves as a self-care and self-awareness practice, leading towards greater well-being and peace of mind.
