Ayurvedic Marma Therapy

Marma Therapy: 20hr Professional Development Training with Dr Shishir Prasad

If you’re a yoga teacher or student looking for an additional healing modality to integrate into your classes and practice, this 2-day Marma Therapy training offers hands-on practical demonstrations that will be invaluable for therapeutic practice and personal use.

A Marma Point is a vital energy point located on the surface of the body.

Ayurvedic medicine describes a Marma point as a junction between the physical being and inner consciousness. They are located at anatomical sites where veins, arteries, tendons, bones or joints intersect. They are also known as neurolymphatic points, stimulating the removal of lymph and enhancing the body’s organs.

Marma are a concentrated pool of prana or vital energy force within us.

This workshop is an opportunity to become more aware of the vast benefits and potential of Marma therapy and also a way to teach people how they can do the Marma therapy for their own benefit in an easy, effective and productive manner.

Stimulating a marma point alters the body’s biochemistry and can unfold radical biochemical changes in one’s physiological, neurological and hormonal response. Stimulation of this inner pharmacy provides feedback to the body’s systems to produce the necessary response for improved function. This can be helpful in remedying a range of ailments from tissue related injuries, to physical and psychological imbalance or illness.

Completion of this training offers Yoga Teachers 20hrs of Professional Development to add to total teacher training hours. It also accounts for 10 CPD points.
