RELAX & RESTORE Yin Yoga Workshop
September 15, 2024 @ 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM AEST

Commit to two hours of dedicated self care and time to:
- learn an accessible form of yoga for any body type and ability
- check in with yourself and reconnect
- slowly and safely open the body for deep restoration
- use intentional breathing techniques to induce greater ease and relaxation
YIN YOGA is different from other yoga styles.
It is a practice of stillness and surrender, the perfect counter to our rushed and busy lives.
With extensive mental health training and over 1000 hours of yoga teaching experience, I will uphold your needs in care and compassion as we learn, practice and reflect together during this 2-hour workshop.
What to expect:
–> Studio tour, welcome, housekeeping and settling in
–> Grounding and intention setting, present moment reflection
Short break (5-10 mins)
–> Theory of Yin Yoga
–> Yin Yoga practice
–> Practice reflection & journalling
Short break (5-10 mins)
–> Introduction to Yoga Nidra
–> Yoga Nidra guided meditation practice
–> Practice reflection & journalling
–> Closing breathwork

Do I need to be fit or flexible for this type of yoga?
Yin Yoga is accessible to everyone, of any body shape, type, size, or ability. You do not even need to have had any experience with yoga! Bring your curiosity and desire to experience something not only different, but soothing…
How should I prepare for this workshop?
Physical movement on a full stomach isn’t very comfortable! Try to have your last meal at least an hour before the start of the workshop. Dress in comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, and covers you modestly. Arrive 5-10 minutes before we begin so I can greet you and show you around.
What do I bring with me?
Yourself, and your water bottle. That’s it! Everything else is provided, from yoga mats to props, to a workbook designed by me. But, if you’d like to bring your own mat, of course you may do that too. 🙂
How do I get there? What’s the parking like?
Deshi-Do Martial Arts Studio is at the back of a small business park at 104 Ferntree Gully Road, Oakleigh East, and there is a big red pylon next to the driveway entrance. As the workshop will be held on a Sunday, you may park in any available space, including in front of other businesses. Click on this link for a dashcam video of how to get there.
