What happens with my past exposures if I move to GSA?

The GSA policy provides an unlimited retroactive date, this means past work in relation to the currently listed Professional Services is covered.

It is imperative that all circumstances that may give rise to a claim are formally notified to GSA as and when you first become aware of the incident to ensure that the Insurer can consider providing indemnity.

However, in the event that you fail to notify a Known Circumstance* before moving to GSA the policy includes an extended continuous cover clause, which may provide cover in the event that you fail to notify a Known Circumstance given the terms and conditions of this clause are met.

*Please refer to the policy wording for more information

Does my policy cover me for multiple locations?

Yes, the policy provides cover for the provision of the listed professional services within Australia and New Zealand.

Would I be covered if I attend Trade Fairs, Shows, Markets etc?

Yes, the policy provides cover for the provision of the listed professional services Australia wide.

Are my employees covered by the policy?

Yes, employees are automatically covered when undertaking the covered professional services for or on behalf of the Insured, they do not need to be named on the policy.

How can I renew my existing policy with GSA?

GSA will provide renewal notification emails one month prior to your policy’s expiry date. Please add [email protected] as a safe sender in your email contacts to ensure these emails are received.

Will the policy cover me to teach online and internationally?

The policy provides cover for the provision of the listed professional services online subject to policy terms and conditions. This includes both pre-recorded and live classes.

The Professional Indemnity territorial coverage is worldwide however; Jurisdictional coverage is restricted to AUS/NZ. This means that should you have a client attend say an online class and they are located in a country outside of AUS/NZ then they are still able to bring a claim against the member however, the claim needs to be brought FIRST in either AUS/NZ jurisdiction. If the claim is not first brought within the AUS/NZ jurisdiction then the policy will not cover you for the claim. Note: The member MUST be domiciled in AUS/NZ. The policy will not respond to member’s physically practicing from an overseas location without prior approval. If the member is doing a substantial amount of work in locations outside of AUS/NZ then it would be wise to either obtain a full worldwide coverage or take out a local policy in the location where the majority of their clients are.

Is prenatal yoga covered?

No specific Pregnancy Yoga qualification is required, as long as you are a qualified yoga instructor then that is sufficient for the policy to respond in the event of a claim arising from teaching a pregnant client.
